Fairly open - most close friends, siblings, parents, significant other.

Yeah sometimes. I feel like I'm always reading the same old storyline. I go through phases where I read no BL for months and then binge. But I don't think I can never abandon it completely. I've sort of expanded to novels, movies and games so it's always there.

• Have you ever thought of your future relationship with BL, once you get kids or start living with a partner? How would that be like (hypothetically speaking)?
• If you are on that stage of your life already, how do you handle it?

Partner doesn't care though he got a shock of his life when he decided to look through one of my BL manga while I was at work. He "didn't think if would be that graphic" and that "they really show everything." 🤣

I will talk about it if it is brought up. Depends on the situation, but I'm pretty open. Every person knows I'm into it.

I went through a phase where I didn't read it due to starting a new relationship with my boyfriend. Eventually I just started reading it again.

I have never thought about having kids. Although I live with my boyfriend, I don't read it in front of him because I just enjoy BL in my private time when he's not around. I kind of separate my love life and BL life. They don't intertwine.

If you are on that stage of your life already, how do you handle it?
Personally, BL to me is my sanctuary of unfiltered thoughts and fantasies. Thus I want to keep it separate from my love life. I just read it when my bf isn't around or when I visit my mom's house. Weird, I know.

I like it if it's hardcore and/or has a good plot or interesting character dynamics. It's annoying when a lot of pages that could have been devoted to plot development are wasted on sex scenes that just look like hugging. 🤣

For about 8 years. At first I used to read my friend's BL manga, then I reeeally got into it.

Which of these do you like better: hardcore, softcore, shonen-ai?
I'd say something between softcore and hardcore? I enjoy some smut in my manga, and I don't mind if the art is graphic - honestly, ghostly invisible pen*ses are even creepier and sometimes it's hard to figure out what they're actually doing. 🤣 But I don't like it if they do extreme stuff or weird things, and it needs to have a good plot or it's just boring.

Open! Whenever the topic "manga" (or anything fandom-related) comes up, I'd definitely mention I'm into BL. :3 Some of my best friends are into it as well, some others aren't but love the topic, a couple of male friends jokingly make grossed out faces. 🙄
I never talk about manga with my parents, but I have no problem reading yaoi in their presence and I often leave them lying around the house.

Yaoi manga and I have an on and off relationship. Sometimes I won't read manga for months, sometimes I'll read them every day. I don't get tired of it: during those times instead of reading manga, I enjoy boys' love in slash fanfics, tv series, or Johnny's (...).
Maybe, in maaany years, it may come a day when I get tired of manga and I won't read yaoi any more, but in that case I'm sure I'd still look for boys' love in books, films or tv series. The medium may change, but not my love for male/male couples. <3

I wouldn't hide it from my partner. I don't expect him to read BL with me, but what I read is up to me, he doesn't have a say in that. If I had kids, I guess I couldn't read BL as openly or leave manga lying around until they've reached an appropriate age. If they were shounen-ai, it wouldn't be a problem, but I read yaoi with sexual content, so I'd better hide them until the kids grow up. XD
