Wings? Wings!? Why?
Everybody in Bleach seems to be able to fly anyway, wings would just slow you down, because of air resistance. (I believe it was explained with "reatsu in the feet suspends you in air" or something...)
From Ulquiorra's mask, I thought he would be a knight or whatever because it looked like a helmet, never would've guessed he would look like a vampire, or is it more of a bat look (his helmet looks like bat ears).

Kubo was probably feeling lazier than usual this week.
I wonder what his helpers draw, since these backgrounds practically consist only of a few lines (cylinder building thingies) and dark shading. Usually mangaka helpers do the backgrounds right?
Edit: I bet that the only way Ichigo will win this is if his Hollow takes over. I can't wait for him to change places with that white Ichigo. I bet that form is the real Vastro Lorde. I think the top 4 Espada are still Adjucas, judging by Ulquiorra's release.

Ulquiorra's release was cool, but I read Doc's spoiler, so I knew what was going to happen. Pretty dull chapter, just a release...
btw, I had forgotten Rukia was fighting again. Since when did this happen? 😕

I thought something more was going to happen. If pacing is a problem Bleach should go to 60 page chapters. 18 pages for this crap is useless.

xtr3m3dude, there are more than one vasto lorde. aizen-sama might only have one (i dont think so but whatever) but there are more. only a handful, but there are more.

Pretty sure white Ichigo is going to take over or Ichigo will discover a new power of his Bankai in this fight. Or Orihime goes crazy.
Ulquiorra's release is pretty cool looking. He looks badass enough so I don't think they wanted him looking like a barely humanoid mass. Ulquiorra is Ichigo's rival so being able to look at him in the face is pretty important and there might be some kind of other symbolic meaning.
Anyone notice the chapter titles? It was going on the 7 Deadly Sins.

Murcielago means bat, so yes. And I think the wings look nice (although hubris has a point about the Emo-factor but well, he always had these nicknames).
And just like I said before, we haven't seen much of him fighting in this form yet. Maybe they have some special ability as well, like Fornicaras' tentacles.

Unlikely because as far as we know being a menos is a requirement to become an Arrancar.

Rukia and the rest helped Ichigo out when he was running to Ulquiorra and the Exequias blocked his path. (Ch. 317)

Kinda a dry chapter. Ulquiorra just does nothing to interest me. His release didn't seem like anything special to me, just a lame vampire motif. And of course, Ichigo has bored me for a while. Rukia's opponent is much cooler (and so is she), but Kubo has us horribly detached from that fight to the point where I can't force myself to care.
The thing with the chapter titles is interesting though. I'm curious to read "The Lust".

was it just me who expected Ulriq to grow wings?... I wasn't suprised at all, I mean, what else could you do with him? giving him something big and matcho is just...wrong.
and I think Tite have switched sceens a lot latley too, maybe cause he wants us to know where everybody are when they start their matches.
and Ichigo will get his ass kicked and on the edge of death he'll either start talking to zangetsu of he'll remember something someone said and come to a concluesion - that he must fight (!)... isn't that how the story goes? it's been like that from the start, grand fisher (?), Renji, Renji again, ken-chan, byakuya, hichigo, grimmy...

"The Lust" might be a lust for power. I think that fits in more with the atmosphere right now. That could be when H. Ichigo takes over or either Ichigo's other Bankai powers get discovered or maybe there's a secret Bankai-like power for Vaizards.
I don't really see how a chapter in the middle of an epic fight can suddenly go into.... well ya know.
