Anywho, I glad to see I was somewhat right that Urahara is gonna use Mayuri to create the R&D section of the 12th. I gotta say the fact that he left it all on that wacko when he left the SS was a little...I don't know irresponsible, maybe.

Byakuya as a kid was fricking hilarious, loved the fact the Yoruichi was teasing him, and he really couldn't do a damn thing about it. Also, proves he really does have a firey temper he just hides it under a cool facade now.

And Gin is now a confirmed nutcase from day 1.

Over all not a bad chapter, but I still wanna see Isshin damnit!

i dunno about you, but as skilled as he was as a researcher, i can't help but feel him forming the R&D institute as more as a way to really make mayuri say yes just so he can get what he wants. he's crafty, but doesn't to be really interested seeing how he made such a suggestion to mayuri...

and the more is shown of urahara in these flashback, the more i can't help but feel like he's a bad guy with a well hidden agenda. as much as i'd like the idea of a twist where he does an "aizen" (good kind guy turns out to be bad guy), a 4th arc feels like a bad idea as well....

and doesn't byakuya looks a bit like rukia? the eyes and eyebrow, and the facial outline except may be a tad bit longer. which i beg the question: is rukia really adopted? cuz to have such similarities, coincidence seems to be such a lazy excuse.

and is it really a good idea to consider this as ch.319? Kubo takes his chapter numbering seriously. i'm really sure once the flashback is over, he'll number it as 316.

this chap kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. with every turn of the page something new and unexpected struck me yet again.
God, this man can write and keep up the tension!

I say, moar chibi-Byakuya, kawaii! But seriously, more Mayuri, he's become one of my favs.

Now we are getting closer (i hope so) to know why Aizen wants Gin to work with him. Gin is a prodigy as ukitake said a young kid who got the guts of saying that the 3rd division captain is nothing to write home about. Aizen took note of Gin saying this for future reference. What I'm wondering is if Gin replaced Rose but he shouldn't since he became first the vice captain of Aizen and Aizen before becoming a captain means shinji already left SS together with other shinigami turned vaizards unless shinji and co did not left SS at the same time.

It wasn't the third division captain but the third seat of the fifth division, that he was talking about and the shinigami he took out, if my translation was correct.

Yes you are right, I read it again and it says 3rd seat of the 5th division. i forgot that ukitake said that the prodigy was assigned to the 5th division. sorry, my bad.

Urahara is indeed a badass, using a very lucrative and difficult-to-reject offer for the sake of research. Diabolical as simply put by Mayuri. If Urahara let's him out, then how would urahara explain Mayuri being unlocked or being out of prison to central 46?

Also i wish that in this flashback, maybe it's just me, that Tite shouldn't have let me see Kaein. I hate to know him more then see him die, although this is a flashback and I understand that it's impossible for tite not to include him in the flashback as kaein dono is ukitake's lieutenant and all.

Also speaking of prodigy, isn't Hitsugaya considered as prodigy also. I hope we get to see him in this flashback, his time in the shinigami school and his promotion to the captain seat.

Byakuya is really acting high and mighty even during his younger years, that's just like Byakuya, years and years of training of being arrogant makes him how he is now. I was totally glad that Tite let us see him sooner his earlier/training days in SS. This is just my speculation but do you think little byakuya has a crush on yoruichi-sama or maybe not, maybe just admiration, hehehe, sorry again for turning this into a mushy post.

I know this is off-topic but yeah i was kinda hoping it's in the bleach second movie but i haven't seen it yet even i researched it so many times and i don't want to watch trailers to avoid spoilers. Well if his story started at -15 i still say that we may get to see him at -15 and above (until-1) chapters in this flashback.

Now that i remember it, urahara used rukia to hide hogyoku right without even telling the person concerned then send ichigo straight to SS to save Rukia without completely telling him what is he up against. I say that urahara used people without compunction in order to achieve his goal. I think that there something worth saving in him though if Yoruichi aid him in his escape. Well for one thing, at least we know that urahara does not agree on all the decisions of central 46 such as the imprisonment of the threat shinigami.
