I didn't even notice that. xD
... Uhm, what can I say, I loved this chapter. =D
Seems like Mayuri and Urahara have a history together, and why does Urahara need Mayuri, btw? I mean, Urahara's obviously smart enough, even Mayuri said so. Maybe he knew that he was going to leave someday soon, and he already picked a good replacement? But why would he do such a thing 10 years prior to his ban from SS? Is it related to the Hougyoku? It's clear though that Urahara needs Mayuri for something.
Also, we are being given a new perspective about Urahara. Seems he's an "unpleasant" man, someone who makes offers you can't refuse. It seems like he's treating everyone as pawns, though he doesn't actually harm them, he does "manipulate" them without them knowing.
I told you that the old guy was a Kuchiki~! 😛 Though that was obvious. xDDD Byakuya is more... hot-tempered now. 🤣
And I also loved Gin and Kaien's entrances! Kaien is so modest and humble, while Gin is so interesting. 😀 Seems Rangiku isn't the vice-captain of the 10th Division, after all. Since she and Gin are of the same age, and Byakuya too~ Interesting fact that they come from the same generation.
It wouldn't surprise me if Mashiru was the 10th Division Vice-Captain, since she and Rangiku are so alike.

This is one getting to be one of the better flashback arcs I've read (not yet on the level of Naruto's Kakashi Gaiden and Rurouni Kenshin's major flashback arc). I thought Gin would have some kind of inner good guy based on his relationship with Matsumoto, but this chapter makes him openly evil through and through. I wonder what Shinji's reaction to his third seat getting killed will be. Byakuya's a completely different character from the cold and almost heartless one we see. Probably because his wife and parents died, but who knows. Since we saw Kaien, I wonder if we get to see Byakuya's wife too (Hisana or w/e her name was).
Side note: Is it just me, or does it look like that Byakuya's still in the academy despite knowing shunpo? The facts that he's still using a wooden sword for practice and the academy style type of clothes he's wearing make me think so. Then I wonder who the Byakuya look alike is in the chapter -107......

uuuu... gin is one creepy mcCreepster.... it was so scary... I guess he's a lot stronger than I thought he was. But I do want to see more development of the Urahara-Mayuri situuation. But he's leaving 12th division to mayuri, what's gonna happen to hiyori now?

Fact: Urahara is an "unpleasant" man
.
Now that i remember it, urahara used rukia to hide hogyoku right without even telling the person concerned then send ichigo straight to SS to save Rukia without completely telling him what is he up against. I say that urahara used people without compunction in order to achieve his goal. I think that there something worth saving in him though if Yoruichi aid him in his escape. Well for one thing, at least we know that urahara does not agree on all the decisions of central 46 such as the imprisonment of the threat shinigami.
yeaaa, Urahara is a very unpleasant man, but he does what he thinks needs to be done, to keep everything in check, so he is cool, imo.

I knew there was a reason I liked Gin, hm. Interesting method of climbing up the uh, social ladder.
I liked the way Urahara dismissed Hiyori. So casual, so cool.
