Quote from airichan

Man, you hit it straight on the head. I've been frustrated with this manga since Yuuki's transformation, which I believe is where I believe this series 1st jumped the shark. It wasn't that I minded that particular plot twist. Rather it was that it felt as if the whole series got way off track and wa ...

you are so spot on.

Back when it started I loved the series, and I believed that there was going to be some kind of character progression, but noooo, the mentality stayed the same.

The point I stopped reading was when Yuuki became a vampire, though I still followed up on the spoilers... I have never been so dissapointed in a manga in my life and I've seen some good, bad and worse, but this series just made me give up on it. I have no desire to read it.

I even held on to The Gentleman's Alliance (which started good, became confusing and ended meh okay), but not on this one.

Nevermore! 😔

Errr, just from reading the premise I thought it was totally obvious that Yuki was a vampire.
AND, after watching a few minutes of the first episode, that she was Kaname's sister.

I mean, seriously...what's the alternative? That she's NOT a vampire and Kaname's sister? THAT would have surprised me.

I would have to agree with most everybody in this thread. Personally, Vampire Knight started out thoroughly engaging for me, but went down the drain at about chapter 30. Everything after that was very wtf. There are no explanations for anything, just more irrelevant questions. And we all know that most of them won't ever be answered since we only have 1 chapter left to go. I simply don't understand how a story that used to be so good could now be so disappointing, but I am just about positive that VK got axed so Hino has to finish it by chapter 93. I would have thought that if the series was still popular and (LE GASP!) well written, they would have let her go to at least chapter 100. To give her some credit, I'm sure creating a manga is way harder than it looks, but maybe she bit off more than she could chew with this serious/angsty type of story. Honestly, she would be better off returning to her comedies like MeruPuri or Wanted.

Personally, I don't think people had a problem with the idea of whatsherface being a vampire or even being whatshisface's sister.

The issue with me was how it was revealed and how it progressed from there I guess.

Just wanted to say that the title of this thread made me laugh for some reason.
As they say "The hate is strong with this one."
