Do you think manga/anime characters effect our choices in relationships?

Last night I was hanging out with some of my high school friends and sisters at a club when we started talking about the men in our lives. That was when one of my friend told us that she started her boyfriend because he reminded her of Tamaki From Ouran Host Club. She liked his personality since it was almost the same like Takamak's and she found that cute. Then my sister Kelly told me that she was only interest in guys who were tall and skinny now ever since she read Perfect Girl Evolution. My sister Nancy then told me: "Hey, aren't you into those guys with psychopath personality like that guy from Furuba; Akito?" I look at her in horror and said, "Akito's a girl." But that's not the point here. What I'm trying to converse here is: Do we try to find our ideal girlfriend/boyfriend by comparing them to the characters that we like? Just wondering.......

I think it's true ^_^;;
Through anime characters we pick and chose what we like in the characters' personalities, then look for those traits in real people.
...or something like that 😛

-.- maybe... if not concoiusly maybe subconcoiusly you hmight htink "Oh That guy/girl reminds me of that guy/girl from that anime/manga" but to me i'm really not sure -.- still i dont think you should make comparisons to fictional characters and real people. I mean what if you find out that your boyfriend/girlfreind only started to go out with you because you looked/had the same personality as they faveourite anime/manga character... isnt it kinda sad?

I've started to talking to some girls b/c of manga/anime that led to some good things but I can't really see myself picking a girl b/c of a manga character. Maybe personality type tho?

T'm kinda the same as daed. In the sense that I might go out with a girl who's personality resembles that of one of my fav manga/anime character. But honestly I've haven't been looking for such persons in particular.
@Merlerna

Well, what about the other way around? Like you would start liking a character in a manga only because he/she has the same traits you wish for in a partner? That's how it is for me 😛 , whenever I like a guy character ( am a girl 😛 ), it's because he resembles my ideal guy.

I think this is the case, rather than wishing your RL person was some anime character. I find anime character's who you like, are the ones who you would like generally in real-life. i.e I like caring, smart, cute, and kind and hard working personalities in people, and for me, the anime/manga character that embodies those qualities is Toujo Aya from Ichigo 100%. I wouldn't necessarily go looking for those with her qualities.

I think it's true in some points
I don't really look for people who looks like manga/anime characters but if I see someone who looks similar to my favorite character then there's a higher chance to speak to this person and maybe then I find out that its a nice guy.Or it's maybe something subconstious and I find out later that he looks similar to someone I like from a series.

It's true!! I find lots of manga characters in my friends (it's also a bit scary sometimes)

But i don't think i could fall in love with someone only because is similar to someone in manga, i would fell quite crazy 😛

When manga/anime influences so heavily in decisions as important as those you begin to wonder if people really can tell the difference between reality and fiction...

yes i bet it does! you probably would look at a guy/girl and say "oh doesn't he look like(--)" and try to get him XD
but that never happened to me, i mostly just fall in characters( weither guy or girl i just feel for them, my most love female character is Casca from berserk, then comes Tsukasa from TKP, as for guys, i love Ryuji from TKP, then comes Rin from Please save my earth, then comes Kei from S.A,)
......yeah i guess i love a lot of characters XD
Oops i almost forgot my eternal love! for Chiaki and Nodame fro Nodame Cantabile 😀

IMO people should learn to draw the line somewhere, real people and manga people are completely different, manga characters are made lovable because it feeds people's fantasies, my point is when you're looking at a person do not compare them from fictional characters because your fantasy will only blind you and you wont be able to see what's real.
manga is an entertainment, leave it there. real life is real life
bleh
😛
If it does affect for somebody... that sucks.
If girls really get addicted to those guys in manga,
the tall, handsome, skinny, trendy etc. then they'll
prolly never find a lover. Well, shonen girls are so simple that
all there is in them are boobs so boys really could find one like that,
but if one only seeks lover for breasts... get a life.
