Does it even matter? Saying "omg hot boyz" in real life is as pathetic when one is not getting any of them and they won't be hot boys forever. They will be a middle aged office clerk little bald over the top.

If manga/ anime characters affect our choices in relationships, then:

1. The mangaka is REALLY good at conveying the depths of human emotions.

OR

2. A person is MUCH too far into manga/anime then they should be.

Manga/anime is just a fantasy world for otaku, but I agree that characters can sometimes affect our choices in relationships.

That's what it means to be an otaku after all, right?

The manga and anime I have read only affect my life because they make me think of different situations. I am constantly expecting my life to turn out like a cliche shoujo, or shounen ai....Of course it has yet to work out that way....
