It's cause the way he portrays female ninja leaves a lot to be desired. Throughout all of Naruto, females have been largely shown as second place, and when he does focus on them they usually end up not doing much anyway before being cast aside.

IIRC, there have only been 2 times that a female in Naruto has done anything important/significant to the plot, and that was when Sakura and Chiyo killed Sasori (And right after Sasori died, Chiyo died right after and Sakura went back to doing nothing like in Part I), and when Kushina went through a crazy amount of pain to make sure that Naruto lived (Which she then died afterwards).

Kishimoto might actually surprise people and have Konan actually oneup Madara, but given his track record with the women in his story, it's highly unlikely.

I was never a fan of Kisame, but I admit he did have a great death. Won't really be missing him though.

I hope Konan gives Tobi a run for his money. It would be great if she took the rinnegan eyes and had them planted in her, but it's very apparent she did not....unless she has to activate them. Doubt it though.

Would be a great time for Jiraiya to make his grand re-appearance and jump in to help Konan. 🤢 Maybe it's time I just give up and accept the fact that he is dead. 🙁

Actually, Kabuto doesn't resurrect the actual corpse, he uses a random body to make it look like that person. The link below explains the jutsu in further detail.

Damn, killing off one of the only pretty females (in my opinion) in this entire manga. Sux. If Konan dies, then the Rain team will officially be the most tragic team in the entire manga. Probably would've been better if Jiraya had never trained them at all and took them to an orphanage instead, with the way things are going.

Also, Did Kishimoto set this up as a scene before a death, or a battle. I doubt it's a battle, because of the Narration context, but I'd be cool I wonder what Konan's real power is.
