What do you think of long distance relationships?

Hm.. I've not really been in any type of relationship..
Although I don't think long distance relationships are a good idea I can see why some people would go for it. I've seen it work out and I've seen it fail, more of the latter.. Although I would generally avoid being in one, I won't say I'd never be in one
I won't get into any more details and my opinions about what it would take to make it work and such because I'm sure there's plenty of people who will give their own input and I'm sure eventually someone will have their overlap with mine so it'll be covered..
One last thing I have to say, good luck to anyone who's in one or who's considering it. It can work out, and I hope it does for you. =) That is all.

I've been in a couple. The first one started my first year of college. We spent a lot of time together, then the next year, she moved back home to go to school (out of state tuition was too much). We talked on the phone every day. We would see each other once a month or so, but she eventually cheated on me. Honestly, it didn't even bother me that much. I didn't cheat on her, but I had started hanging out with different people by that point. I was a different person. Thinking about it now, it probably lasted longer than it should have because we could do what we wanted and just spent a couple of days a month together.
The second was in college as well. We started dating towards the end of my third year, her final year. We had been friends from my freshman year, but she had been in a serious relationship until I asked her out. We dated for a few months before she had to go to grad school on the other side of the country (literally, East coast to West coast). We talked on the phone every day for a while, then moved to emails. I was working on a senior thesis, she was starting her masters, so we had less and less time. That summer, I went to see her and we decided to end it. That was a year and a half ago, we are engaged now (live together).
So, I've had both sides I guess. It's not the best thing, but if you love them, then you should at least try it. It can strengthen the relationship, or it can break it.

the thing is
if you truly love this person and he/she loves you back there is no problem
if you or your partner only like each other becouse of sex
then it will become a problem
but that will be a problem in a normal relationship aswell
