MU's the friendliest of the friendlies. 🙂
As for unfriendlies, I remember one download forum with one of those "you must have X number of posts before you can do anything," which doesn't really bother me, except that this particular forum was stupidly strict about what constitutes a meaningful post. Within my first twenty minutes, maybe a half-dozen of my posts got canned for being, I dunno, five words short of the recommended length. In a place where most of the threads were fairly well established, and a new user will have very little to contribute that hasn't already been said by someone else. And there's a whole host of other rules for *starting *a topic. Feh. I actually don't remember what site that was. I deleted the bookmark and never looked back. 🤢
I'm pretty sure that was Evil Empire. Holy Jesus, those posting rules were ridiculous. I would make a good 20 posts that I felt were thoughtful, and then I would check back the next day to see that the mods deleted 75% of them because they didn't have good content. 🤢 And of course not enough posts means no access to downloads or information.
Not cool, man. Not cool at all. 😔

LOL, Dii. XD
Yes, I second that suggestion. We're all nice and cracked up on lack of sleep over there. 🤣

Mangaupdates and Onemanga are some of the friendliest I've come across.
Mangafox was alright too, but it was one of the least friendly I had come across. I mean, it wasn't bad or anything, just not quite as friendly as everything else.
As for the Evil Empire thing, I didn't have any problem at all. Maybe its because my posts aren't generally short, and I don't really care if I'm repeating what someone else has already said; I just phrase it different.
Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?

Pretty sure I know which site that is. Won't say the name though since members here seem to worship the site. >_> They're very nit picky with forum posts. I don't even post anymore, because somehow I always strayed off topic or simply put, my posts weren't meaningful enough for further discussion, even though everything I could have said was already said beforehand. 😐

i remember one thing that was stupidly annoying about evil empire was that pretty much at least half the threads were closed for cleaning at all times, so you end up with only this one thread you can post on...

Hmmm...well, I don't forum surf much but MU is a pretty friendly place. Mangahelpers is a nice crowd too, and I Iike the kids over at Esthetique.
Luckily I haven't had much experience with unfriendly not-scanlation manga sites. I know the post said to exclude scanlation sites but, well, to be honest the handful of places where I've had unpleasant experiences have been on scanlation forums (with all of those "fake friends" post count rules and so on...give me a break). I think, overall, that the manga community is pretty cool. 😎

The most friendly is MU, and you know why (probably).
The most unfriendly is...mangafox. It's not friendly to me with its slow loading times and lots of redirecting ads. Lame reason, but I like being able to read my manga quickly 😛

mangafox actually seemed to be pretty friendly, towards me at least, all my questions/concerns were usually answered very quickly and well

Since I'm on MU, I like MU. I've also visited a lot of scanlation groups at their irc channels, and the people there are generally pretty nice.
I don't like sites that require people to make a certain number of relevant posts. Just fills the forums with a different kind of spam.

serenus dreamers, esthetique (we can be friendly when know one piss us off). dakku manga (don't piss mahvish off ^^), svloyalty
um.. yeah.. that's all for now.. when i think of more i'll post it up
ah. I wonder if i knew you too! I worked for esthetique for a while. I've heard of chueisha tho. (I'm no stalker! 😀 )
Anyways, the most friendly sites are MU, Aarinfantasy,
and various yaoi scan groups. 😀
Those ladies (or men ^^) make the most cutest layouts ever, and i like when they post about random things and their updates.
As for the unfriendlies, I have yet to encounter with them yet. 🙂

onemanga is a great site in terms of being understanding....
Janimes is abit unfriendly in terms of being a bit b*tchy about download policies, thread policies, and all these 100s of policies...
kiligaris livejournal ... they are major d*cks in terms of how they set up all the download policies... i mean i could understand the guy for bring nl about people just ripping mangas off of him, but he has a very hotheaded personality, like he gets annoyed easily....
mangaupdates... are nice people 🙄

MU and Onemanga are good, in terms of friendliness, but all sites have nice people, its just a matter of if you're on when they are.
4chan is full of assholes.
My kinda place.

My fav trans site is Aerandria, they have tones of releases every week, they are well organised and you don't even have to log in to leave a comment => very friendly in my opinion. They're great.
Of course I love MangaUpdates as well, actually MU is the first site I open when I turn on my computer.
