Certainly it's a theme, but the progress in the relationship has been pretty stagnant, and the girl is too innocent to really understand her feelings. Maybe something will happen later.

i think the same. At this point it seems the manga is more focused on taiga surviving without getting caugh (or his secret being exposed), still that is somehow related, becouse if he get exposed, will get expelled so will never get the girl.

Like getting expelled is going to be a problem for their relationship...They don't exist in different world like say in Negima. They live in the same world, so even if he gets kicked out, they'll still be able to visit and meet up with him out of school.

The romance in this is about as serious as your typical shonen manga. There's not much chance of warm embracing of the couple being all lovey dovey with sparkling eyes and flowery backgrounds. Still, it's about as serious as one side liking the other, and in the case of main characters, the other side is oblivious to the feelings.

All the memories you have that are associated with the school are erased if you are expelled (and that includes everything regarding the girl). Ya, I'd say that would put just a minor kink in their relashionship.

Anyways ya, at the start of Mx0 it focuses on the romance a lot, but it slowly drifts to being focus.

the whole reason Kuzumi is staying in that magic school is to get to know the girl and get close to her. So, all the stuff he is doing is for the sake of the girl that he loves and not for anything else so I believe that the romance is essential to the plot of the story.
However, that being said it seems that they are taking it slow with the romantic development... Perhaps they plan on extending this manga to 200+ chapters...

it's a pretty typical shounen so far, romance is just an aspect of the series. probably will happen eventually, i can just see the look on her dad's face(gonna be a good chapter) 😀

Yeah, but how many series with romance plot actually fears memory loss? It always boils down to love being greater than the erased memories, and they'll always somehow remember despite not supposedly able to. Besides, it's Mx0, not like it'd be impossible, heck, someone could end up using the real gold card for that purpose even if it comes to it.
There's so many ways to push them apart and back together.

The chemistry seems focused on Kuzumi and Aika, but there are some one-sided loves developing with another character. I wont say who if you havent reached that point yet

Yea, the scenario would be similar to Lilim Kiss. Where in the end

even though Lilim loses all her memories of Saiki, she still feels a strong emotional connection towards him when they meet again. So, their relationship won't necessarily end if he gets expelled, but they would have to start pretty much all over again. However, since "love conquers all", they would probably find a way to make it work out.
