Lets say manga becomes up to date, would you buy it?

I'd only buy if it wasn't as censored as it usually is here in the states.

I don't really care about the release date, I much rather publishers take their time to make a quality product. Also there isn't much manga I'm following right now that isn't already finished in japan.
Pretty much this. I can't understand people's impatience when it comes to manga releasing, anyway.

nope, i already started doing it for free why stop?
I know what you mean, but the author needs to eat, you have to support them for their work.

I have bought some of the mangas that i like when they're available at my area and i plan to continue to purchase them when they're available. But it's quite difficult not only because most of the authors that I follow don't have any official translated series in the US. And the other reason is the only place I can buy the manga's they receive only a small amount of the books so most of the time when I get to go to the store they're sold out and they don't have a lot of varieties added the fact of the $$$$ too.

I already buy it, but yes, I would have much more incentive if it were more up to date. (For example, after VIZ got One Piece up to 54 volumes, from the original 20-some, I bought 2 new volumes immediately).
The only issue, like everyone else is saying, is money. $10-$12 per volume is above my ability to regularly pay, so I wouldn't be buying a very big variety of manga.
Eh, and also, I suppose I should say this now, I would also only buy it if it was excellent quality. Like, no spelling errors, accurate translations, and no editing of the original artwork or censorship of any kind.
^This.
A lot of times I ended up NOT buying the manga is because they changed something from the original work (story/art/wording/etc). Just leave it the way it is and do your best when you're translating it(or add in some notes at the end/side/etc) instead of making something up to sub in the cultural jokes.
I stop buying stuff from tokyopop because they messed with too many of the series like that, viz I still give money to since they at least have the quality of the original work.
I'd buy more if they just lower the price by a bit, even if it's $1-2 per volume it'll translate to me buying just a few more books a month. 😐

I already support the manga which I feel are worth supporting, but If censorship went down and releases were put out at a faster rate, I can only see good things coming of it.

I believe in supporting the author.
So yes, I would.
(I already buy volumes but price becomes an issue, and slow release times)

I believe in supporting the mangaka, too. But for one, the price is $10 compared to Taiwan's $3 or free scans online, and then the problem of censorship and the quality of the print in general. They sometimes erase the screen tones/backgrounds in the manga to save money. ._. Not to mention the paper quality. And yeah, the translations are really slow, too.
So unless all this is corrected, I probably won't be buying manga in the US anytime soon.

See, in my opinion, and let me say this again, in my opinion, if the manga was to be sold at a fairly reasonable price, enough to support the mangaka and enough to not make him to greedy, but then there are the publishers, cost for shipment, translators, and all this good stuff. But still, the difference would only be shopping it to the US and having it translated. The cost for shipment would be pretty excessive aswell, keep that in mind, but if they would just have the manga created in the US that might help, but they would have to spend alot to do that aswell. It is a pretty complex thing. But as you know, it supply and demand, and demand is pretty good, but when its expenseive, they are sure to lose sales... it very complicated things we are talking about. >.<;;;

I buy it for a reason, and that's to have the book in my hands.
Its really a different experience, which is why I buy the books as soon as their licensed even if I've already read it all online.
When I start buying a manga I typically stop reading the scans. It's rough sometimes, but I have so many other un-licensed scanlations to read its no that big of a deal. :/

It depends on the quality of the translation.

Depends on how much I like the manga and how much it's going to cost me. I'm cheap! xD

I won't buy them, and probably never will.
Hold on, it's not because I'm greedy for free stuff. It's purely because of the censorship, editing and some fault of the translations.
I can't argue with the price when exchange rates and shipping fee comes into play.
However, I just don't see the point of blurring out some graphical details like the middle finger when you can actually see it being flashed at you when you accidentally bump into someone. 🙄
And I like my manga with the Japanese honorifics intact, thankyouverymuch.
Don't boast about originality when it's already localized (in terms of language) and has graphical edits.
I pretty much ranted it out here, if anyone's interested- Bone To Pick
I'd rather take the trouble to learning Japanese and directly support the mangaka by buying straight from the publishers.
