Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Greatest. anime (and hopefully manga). evah.

the manga only has 4 chapters out, but it's promising and the anime was amazing in my opinion.

I've already read and watched eva, and I'm not THAT interested in Gundams, but does anyone know of a good series to read that is similar? When I say similar, i mean like similar character personalities (like Kamina) or similar in genre (has mechas... ACTION! romance is good too) or similar in the fact that TTGL blows everything out of proportions.

Are you looking for anime or manga?

(1) Bastard:  super-exaggerated action + a feminist's nightmare relationships + 80's rock = a very odd anime. Haven't read the manga.  
(2) [Dead Leaves](http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2021): weird and chaotic. Nothing like it. Anime only.

Never watched TTGL...but if you want a mecha, try Code Geass anime
