I'm looking for some series, preferably romance or with a good romantic subplot, where the hero has a horrible reputation and people view him as a creep. Not a delinquent or loser like Naruto and various other standard Shounen series, but a creepy weirdo or potential predator. Basically, a hero who's somewhat like Ishigami Yuu from Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai - Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen. Actually a good person who never did anything like that, but due to rumors and maybe a general awkwardness is viewed with contempt, disgust and suspicion.

Not sure if these fit exactly...

• Molester Man aka Chikan Otoko - Romance, comedy. A man gets mistaken by a molester in a train.

• Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatte Iru. - Long time since I've read this, but I think Hachiman, the MC, is widely disliked by the student population even though he goes around resolving their problems in secret. I say 'I think' because it's been a while since I've read this story... sorry 😛

I would second Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatte Iru as that was my immediate first thought.

SNAFU is pretty good and does fit fairly well. Not quite what I was looking for though, since he doesn't seem to have a "reputation" or anything, people just think he's a loser because of his looks and attitude (which he acquired from being treated like a loser). I'm more looking for someone who has reached a point where people believe he's a creep, again like how Ishigami went from being a loser like Hachiman to being far more severely ostracized and persecuted on account of the incident with Kyoko in junior high; people don't just look down on him as someone "below" them or worry about being near him because he's such a loser, they despise him because they think he's a violent stalker who beat a girl's boyfriend to make her love him.

Only thing I can think of that resembles this is Bunny Girl Senpai. The hero doesn't let it bother him much, nor do the girls close to him, but there's some evidence that at least at the beginning a lot of people view him with fear and suspicion because of rumors (specifically, he wound up hospitalized for some severe injuries, and the story somehow got twisted until it became "common knowledge" that he put three guys in the hospital).

Saikyou Densetsu Kurosawa is a good one too with meaningful life lessons.

Maybe try Angel Densetsu ?
Everybody else think the MC is a delinquent while he actually not.
Its very good and funny IMHO. 😀
But you have to survive the first volume. Because I found more solace from the female characters that show up at volume 2 and above. 😁
Don't worry, the art is getting better later on. But the first volume is the first hurdle.
