Cheering Up

I get very, very bad moments. Like I'll go from being happy to just crashing into a pit of depression for what I believe to be no really logical reason. Or there are the days where I look back and something from the past just breaks my heart all over again.
What I do then is make a choice, do I want to cry or do I want to laugh? If it's cry, I'll find the saddest thing I can, just to push me over and I'll cry over it for hours. And I'll usually feel better after that.
But mostly I choose to laugh, and when I do, I usually flip through "Hot Dog," rewatch some One Piece, reread some of the funnier manga on my list, and just recently I've been listening to some Def Poetry on Youtube. Some of it's really funny and some give me that nice warm feeling that makes me feel better.

I often suddenly switch into a sad phase from a happy phase. When that happens, I don't really have anyone to go to so I really keep it to myself. Usually, it isn't even major enough for me to go to another person though.
When I try and cheer up another person, I'm not sure how well I do. The other person never really gives a sign to how much better (or worse) they're feeling after my counseling or it could be that I'm even more dense than I thought. I think I do an OK job though. I'm a good listener. No one really broke into tears after an attempt so I guess that's a plus.
Now it's time to rant about my probs...
Right now, I'm kinda sad/depressed about my height. I'm SO freaking short compared to my peers. My parents say that it's OK since I'm Chinese and we're shorter than most of the people who go my school. Thing is, I'm short even compared to my Asian friends. I'm 14 but I'm within a week to 15, and I'm in the range between 5' 2" and 5' 3". I'm already taller than both of my parents and almost all the girls are taller than me 🙁 .
I'm not sure if anyone can really cheer me up with that. I mean, it's my body we're talkin about. And the rant is over.

I hardly ever get upset, but even when I do it doesn't take long for me to get into my usual happy mood. I guess things really don't bother me because I don't really care about other peoples. Most of the time that includes my own (Now how that works I'm still trying to figure it out.) 😕

i donno what you gais are talking about
what's there NOT to be happy about, seriously. i'm happy all the mofo'ing TIME mang!
compare those two things, things to be happy about, things to not be happy about.
chances are things to be happy about will weigh more, if you think logically.

Honestly, it takes a lot for me to not be happy.... like something has to happen to someone I care for. I have an extremely optimistic outlook on life. When things happen, and they're not to your liking, just take something from it - knowledge, a lesson. Life is too short to not be happy, too short to take everything too seriously.
So, I'm one of those people most people hate...
Happy and perky at all hours of the day... even at 5 in the morning.

Usually, when I'm feeling less-then-perky, I'll hole up in my room with a book or something, crank up my iPod, and just chill for an hour or two. If I'm feeling really bad, I'll boot up my laptop and blog about it. It really helps to get my frustration out.
But for the really, really awful stuff, I call my best friend. She's a great listener, and she's a cheerful person by nature. So, I'll generally rant for about ten minutes, then as I'm winding down, she'll say something or another that'll bring my mood back up.
It gets really bad when I'm forced to go somewhere while in my bad mood. I've bitten more then one person's head off ^^;;;
Edit: By the way, for anyone who needs a giggle, I thought Cat Man Do was hysterical. ;D

Apparently I'm the one everyone goes to so they can get cheered up. Which is funny cause like 90% of the time I'm sarcastic as hell. I guess when it's not directed at them, it cheers them up?
I have a friend where we simultaneously depress and cheer each other up. He's like my first buddy who has actually tried to cheer me up, rather than just make himself feel better.
@Road
you're still growing. Oh, and you're taller than I am, so that's one girl that isn't taller than you. I'm older than you as well, so I'm stuck at my 5 ft.

When I get depressed, I sleep, a lot, and now a days, I cry 😢 . Now it's a feeling of self-worth and trying one's hardest but in the end all fails. I'm trying to be optimistic, it's hard, but those little moments of happiness help.
For me, in order to cheer up, I usually rewatch my favorite anime series or read my favorite manga. Hanging out with friends incredibly distracts me from the real world so I prefer that as well. AND watching Minami-ke always makes me happy (me wanna season 4!!!!)

Liverpool 4 - 1 Man Utd + playing at Old Trafford + all the tension + beer = A very happy Reds fan 🙂
When I'm down, I cheer myself up 🤣
Nah, the feeling eventually goes away, I don't really do anything in particular Ô_Ö

If i remember a funny anime ep/manga chapter,
i'll read/watch it just to cheer myself up.
Once or twice, I went to www.fmylife.com,
and read those messed-up/hilarious stories that happen to people. It made me lol hard.
I'd go out with my friends to go eat dinner,
or we'll go to the park at night time and run around until i break out into a cold feeling sweat.
IT'S LOADS OF FUN.....
Usually, I'm cheered up when I simply forget about what made me feel sad.
Sleeping also helps. 😀

ah...the 'there's always someone worse of' technique.
I have a mate that constantly gets in some shitty situation...so I just need to call him and ask what's up to get my spirits up.
He either lost his driver license, got dumped, has bookies looking for him, got his credit card limit decreased...all fun...

I feel happier when I work on my stories, when I listen to my favorite albums, or when I watch funny shows like The College Humor Show.

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.
I am also in the funk nowadays almost always..the thing that helps is something utterly funny and constantly for me...unfortunately, I dont know many funny witty people here 😢 ...execpt for some comedy shows in youtube...rewatching F.R.I.E.N.D.S now..
I usually try very hard to hide the fact that I'm feeling kinda down, but the only ones that can really cheer me up is my close friends. It's difficult to be in a bad mood around them 🤣
I think I am pretty good at cheering people up 😀 They can talk about it if they want to, but I can also make them laugh and think about something else 😃
