So, who do you go to when you're feeling down and you need someone to cheer you up? Does it actually improve your mood or just worsen it? And what do you do when you try to cheer other people up?

If you're feeling sad/disappointed about something, then you could vent out here, and we'll try to cheer you up! 😉 😛

MU - Fighting for your Happiness! (New slogan~)

Bleh, whatever. 😛

I'm actually feeling quite well now, but when
I need some cheering up, I'll come here. ;-;

P.S.: You can post happy or cute pics/vids in here too.
(Who knows, maybe your contribution will cheer someone up!)

When I'm sad or something , I usually keep it to myself ^^.
I don't really like to talk about some things with others, they just keep nagging.Laughing is more fun than talking about sad stuff.
I just listen to some music,or draw or something ^^.

For other people..I guess.. I just listen to what they have to say, comfort them..sometimes I get angry when they're having too much selfpity,I tell them my opinion of what they're doing, somehow they're always cheerful after someone tells them to stop looking at things like that and try to look on the bright side.

Right now..I'm..not sad..not depressed..but bored.I have my exams.and I'm always extremely bored when I have those tests coming up.Bleh.

😛

I'm either sad or depressed these days. Cheering me up will give me 10 nice minutes of bliss for caring.~

Anyways, I always try to cheer people up when they are sad, despite having a crappy feeling myself.
Sometimes you can't do much, so I just listen...
I like seeing people I care for enjoying themselves or simply being happy. I guess it cheers me up as well.

Doesn't she make you smile? :3

Today was definitely a low day, I even ended up smoking again. 😔 Someone can try to cheer me up if they want, I doubt it'll work though.

Feeling down?

People who try to cheer me up are always welcome.

When i'm sad and upset i retreat within myself and lock myself away in my room and think.

Its the worse thing to do, thinking. It makes me feel worse. I do it anyway 🤣

I usually go to my sisters when i wanna get it off my chest and feel like talking. They can understand me much better than what my parents can.

Plus they're the only ones I proper trust.

My happy pill would have to be me. I can come up with the randomnest situations, so how can I ever be sad? XD
But when I'm sad I just look up funny pictures like this. XD
If I leave myself alone to sink into depression, then I'll never be able to pull myself out of it. =___=;

I tend to be a bit down most of the time, but I'm fairly good at coming up with good things to counter it. Usually I just go back though some funny memories or come up with some incredibly stupid but funny invention. Or come up with a silly phrase or some quote I've read. Like one in Lilim Kiss.

The other day, I had a dream where I was teaching tricks to a penguin and a goat." I wonder what that dream meant...

Or maybe watch a good anime or read a manga. Just randomly searching the internet for odd cute pictures (like the ones already posted in here) are a good way as well ^^

Talking to people tends to bring the opposite effect instead

When I'm feeling down, I usually just try to stay busy until it passes.

In the two months since my foster son went to live with his aunt, I've made 5 quilts, finished some Ren garb, gone to a Con, tried out a bunch of new recipes, organized the garage, cleaned out the rain gutters, fixed the dryer vent (in the crawlspace, ugh), started a toilet repair, read quite a bit of manga, and watched several drama & anime series. I still feel sad, I just don't spend much time thinking about it, since there's really nothing that can be done & sitting around crying all day certainly isn't going to improve things.

Sometimes listening to certain music will help; a lot of Arashi's is pretty upbeat without being sickeningly "happy-happy-happy!!!" Other times I just want to hear something that's as melancholy as I feel and happy music would just make me feel worse. Finding something ridiculous on youtube (the crazy cat/pet antics often make me laugh so hard I have trouble breathing, but that may just be me) is often a good short-term fix.

I don't know about the whole "cheering people up" thing, seems like either A) they're unhappy due to some problem/issue, in which case you can try to help them solve it, or B) they're just feeling blue, which really isn't going to get better through someone "cheering them up". In either case, I try to be there, listen, & let them know I care.

I don't tell other people when I'm sad but I do like to spend more time with my family or friends when I am feeling down.
I also try to keep busy. I can be much more productive in times of sadness.

Listening to music helps a lot too.

@TofuQueen: I love how happy Arashi is. And watching their videos always make me laugh.

I never know what to do to cheer people up. Especially if their are tears involved. I guess I just try to listen and be a good friend.
Depending on the situation, I may just take them out to do something fun.

When I'm down I listen to music or read manga, If I keep my mind off the problem I feel better, but only for short period of time, talking to someone (friends/family) is sometimes the only way for me to feel better.

To help other people cheer up I just listen to their problems and give them advice, it doesn't always work, as sometimes they would rather be alone. 🙁

I don't really get sad, I go straight to depressed. I don't talk to anyone about it, I just deal with it. There's nothing anyone can do to pull me out of it, so there's no need to talk.
I will be there for anyone else though. I have quite a bit of experience and am a good listener, both of which has helped people out in the past.
