I am still shaking. Seriously I honestly don't know what to make of this. It's funny because I thought that Aizen probably has a 0 espada and I did think Yammy would do something crazy and his power level would increase. Turns out it's a combination of both.

So where does the story go from here? Well I guess it's back to fake karakura town just like everyone wanted. Thing is I would rather see what the hell is going to happen in Hueco Mundo. How are the good guys supposed to deal wth this? I don't think Ichigo can afford to go SSJ3 again.

Imagine if Yammy had released back in the real world? I know this whole 0 idea is something Kubo Tite thought up recently but still. He probably would've killed everybody. It's good job hollow ichigo rendered the real ichigo useless.

I honestly didn't think Bleach could surprise me anymore. Ulquiorra second release, Ichigo SSJ3 and Yammy 10 to 0 release just goes to show that anything is possible.

On a side note how dare Yammy claim the title of zero? There is only one who has the right to do so. ALL HAIL LELOUCH!

After some intense thinking, I realise that there are subtle hints at Yammy's power. When we first meet them, Ulquiorra says that Yammy's greates weakness are his observation abilities. He then protects Yammy from Kisuke's attack saying 'you idiot in your current state you will be unable to defeat them'. Recently in hueco mundo ulquiorra says to him 'i see you have completely recovered but you are not needed here, if you want go fight the captains' (something along these lines). I doubt Ulquiorra was trying to make Yamy feel better about himself, I reckon Ulquiorra is aware of his potential.

When Ishida appeared he said 'you're the yammy szayel mentioned'. When did szayel mention yammy? Ishida decided to use the arrancar bomb on Yammy and immobilised him, rather than fighting hime head on. Maybe Ishida knows about Yammy's power?

I might just be giving Kubo more credit than he deserves.

So Yammy is retarded and weak when he hasnt released, and sickly strong when he has been eating and resting up his spiritual energy + releasing his sword. But it still doesnt make sense since he's a fucking retard, So he gets to be #0 with pure muscle... crap imo.

You guys are being too simpleminded. The #0 doesn't necessarily mean that he's the strongest. He might have some special ability which granted him that number. Nothing more, nothing less. Maybe he's #0 because he has the best growth potential? Who knows.

Also, stigvindy, you're thinking too deep into this. What kind of translation did you have anyways? The one I've read is a bit different.

These first two that appeared early on in the story don't really have any indication that Yammy has a secret power or something.

Ulquiorra does say 'at your level'. Depending on how you interpret this, it can support my claim but whatever maybe I am thinking too deep into this.

What If Yammy is different to other espada, because as long as he is resting he will keep building up power, that means you can't truly rank him as a number #? in the espada, because even if he is the weaker one, he has the potential to be the strongest, Ulquiorra said that at his current level, he was unable to defeat Urahara and when he appeared to help him with Ichigo he said that He should go and fight the captains.

I don't know you, but that means his powers and by default his rank, cannot truly be given a real rank, because it seems when he uses his power (maybe when he UNRELEASE'S) he will go back to being the "small" Yammy we make fun and laugh.

If this is the case, Yammy as Espada #0 doesn't equal him to be the strongest, but just that he has the potential to be the strongest.

His level right now?

Well Ulquiorra told him to take on the Captains, and he didn't mean One or two, he pretty much said all of them, so Yammy must be The Strongest Espada in HM right now (-_-), then again he is the last one (o.o), but Still, Ulquiorra wanted to show Ichigo the difference himself, he was sure he would win, and as such I believe Ulquiorra didn't want Yammy to waste his power in Thrash and that is why he wanted Yammy to fight the captains.

In conclusion? I think Yammy is stronger than Ulquiorra, is just the way Ulquiorra himself portrayed that moment, (or at least how I feel he did), is he stronger than Stark, Halibel and Barragan? I can't tell, but there is a good chance that (at this very moment) He is.

The Good about this chapter:

That RUKIA might DIE, god she is such an useless character, her growth potential is almost non existent and I don't want Kubo to go cheap on us and give her the ONLY power up she can have (Bankai), and I truly don't want a Shinigami whos power shouldn't be greater than a VC (maybe equal), own Arrancars like nothing, VC's are able to beat Gillians easily, but Adjucas are a work for a strong VC or higher, so that means an Adjucas Arrancar should be impossible for them (and it was, just remember how Grimjaw almost killed her like if he was killing a BUG), sadly here she is... still alive and making plot hole after plot hole (just the fact that she was almost killed by a shit hollow that Ichigo destroyed in a FLASH, and don't pull the shit that it was the situation!! SHE SUCKS, for any other VC or Third seat, that BITE would have been a Flesh wound!!!)

Also we may get rid of Renji, and even if his growth potential is acceptable (learning to control his Bankai), the guy is nothing more than FILLER, Byakuya should had Killed him back in SS, would had saved us LOTS of time and Panels.

El Chad...

Well I like El Chad, and as he was training with Renji and fighting him not in Equal ground, but close enough, with this new power up, he should be STRONGER than Renji, with also adds the possibility of him drowning in Despair and turning to a Full Hollow (hopefully Vastro level), is one of my secret wishes to see El Chad killing people and putting several other characters (like the shinigamis) to shame.

So yeah I want him to fight Yammy and maybe get another power up, or I want Yammy to ONE HIT KILL Rukia and Renji, just to have El Chad fight a little longer (would show that INDEED el Chad is stronger than them), just to also fall, then I would want the captains (Unahana anyone?) to also take on Yammy, and also fail (Yammy having a second release would be a good example) something like

Captain: You are strong arrancar, but you will lose
Yammy: Really? pulls a kitchen knife out of one of his teeth
Captain: What?
Yammy: You do know this is my unreleased state...
Captain: can't be!!!
Yammy: Something Something

Second Release Yammy turns out to be a Hot Bishi and in the next poll (arrancar poll) Yammy actually wins thanks to the votes of Female fan girls.

Anyway

With captains failing, Ichigo decides to Join and fight Yammy...

El Chad would then See Ichigo fighting a second release Yammy, and not losing in the first 2 seconds, and THAT would make El Chad DROWN in despair...

(Because DESPAIR, is the best friend of Hollows and fat kids)

He is a troll, and a great one at that, he has managed to make a very popular shounen manga in a popular magazine and he just completely fucks with everyone with it!

Anyways, I think Wonderweise will play a part, but hardly being the strongest, I think Aizen would have given him a number if he was that strong.

This is a funny chapter indeed, the first few pages were sort of wasted, but I'm glad it got back to Halibel in the end.

Yammy seems to be a special espada if you look through his history. He totally sucks at everything, befitting his number 10 tattoo. He gets beaten up and not get blamed for anything, loses an arm but doesn't get replaced. Aizen never tries to replace him or gets mad much at him as well. Grimmjow gets a little cut up and then had his arm cut off by Tosen and demoted, Yammy remained 10 even though he got beat up by Ichigo...

Whatever the reason, he isn't the smartest of the espada nor was his 10 that insignificant. He is only 0 when he is released, but 10 when he's not. There's no rule in the world saying you can't assign more than one number to something to represent it.

Besides, 0 is still above 11.

I just want to see Halibel's fight, everything else is just meh now since Ichigo still suck... 😐

I just find all of this ridiculous...how is it possible that the weakest (#10) becomes the strongest (#0) just by releasing?? Then what would happen if Stark (#1) releases?? Would he become # -100?

And I've always thought that the number system was just a system to rank their powers, and that the numbers DO NOT change with their fluctuating power levels. Furthermore, I think Aizen, when assigning the numbers to the espadas, should have taken into account their powers in their released states (the 1st release, anyways), so it's weird that Aizen assigned two numbers to Yammy when he could have just given him #0 to begin with.

My speculation to this turn of events is that either the change in doesn't really mean anything, or that Kubo just thought up this twist recently and decided to add it in just for the heck of it. 😛

Lastly, Halibel's sword DOES NOT look like that!! I thought it was supposed to be wider and shorter...
