Ichigo cut yammy's arm off, not Kisuke. Kisuke just beat the crap out of yammy.

People are thinking too much about this "strongest" thing.

The espada is the top 10, nowhere does it say you can't be demoted or promoted if you get weaker or stronger. The numbers are just that, numbers. Grimmjow was removed when he lost his arm and luppi took over, but they were both 6. Nell was removed from the espada but she still has the 3.

Note how the number stayed the same but the people didn't?

In the end, even if yammy counts from 0-9 instead of 1-10, there are still only "10" if yammy is both 0 and 10.

Besides, we're hearing this from Yammy of all people, he's not the strongest overall even if he has 0. He most likely has an unique abillity that Aizen went to the trouble of branding him as 0. His recent growth rate seems to suggest an ability to absorb reishi, meh.

I hope it's still Stark as the strongest. Yammi is like my least favorite arrancar and I think this is something that Tite just pulled out of thin air. I mean Yammi has been getting his ass kicked from day one. Also, i just remembered this, but back when Yammi got his arm cut off and they had reattached it Ulquiorra commented that if they hadn't been able to reattach it, Yammi would've gotten thrown out of the Espada. If Yammi truly was the strongest I think it wouldn't matter much if he lost an arm. And the whole arguement with the numbers being 0-9 and/or 1-10 is just over semantics. Who cares if Tite is forgetting what he wrote a 100+ chapters ago, just be thankful that he's still making this story for us.

It was an interesting chapter. Well, I don't agree with yammy's position, or else he could've used his resurrecion at any time in the past. And now, Tite ran out of ideas and switches to the long karakura town fight.

Question about the last panel: Is that water and if so is Halibel controlling it or is that Hitsugaya?

I've little faith in Tite letting his characters die... Hitsugaya will probably beat Halibel in a long and drawn out fight.
Notice Water can be frozen into ice so.... ya... I hope Tite isn't making that too obvious.

Remember what Sibiry Thunder witch said, once an Arrancar loses a part of themselves, their power will reduce drastically (she wanted to kill Ishida so that didn't matter), it seems to be an after effect of being adjucas (If you lose a part of yourself "even a finger" you can't evolve any more, and actually with time you will surely devolve).

I was unsure about the last page with Halibel saying "Destroy", but even if that was a release command, it was never completed, so that WAVE is not hers... is an attack made by someone else, probably a water user (Ukitake).

Now Ichigo gets to fight the strongest espada. It makes sense. Ichigo needs to take down someone really strong so when he defeats Azien it'll be believable.

yammys new strength makes no sense in terms that he would be strongest. if we assume the original espadas strength was in numerical order, it would include the strength of the release. now, yammy has made it fucking confusing by telling us that he is the weakest while unreleased and the strongest while in release mode. now we need two ranking systems which is bullshit and makes no sense 😀
