I've read this a couple of years before, and now that I've remembered it, I'm wondering if it had any sequel. The problem is, I can't remember the title.

The clues that I can remember was
The protagonist is a male, I think around highschool or junior high. His dead cat takes a form of a male too, and his classmate. He seems to forgot that his cat died, He often talks to this cat-turned-classmate cat, but his other classmates cant it so they think he is mutter to himself, depressed about the fact that his cat died. There was a scene where he was walking, and he saw a familiar spot that he and his cat would take. He went there and remembers what happened.

Anyone familiar with this? I've tried search tagged with cats, dead, forgot, etc and still cant find it.
