Do you read BL or GL manga?

Inspired (somewhat) by calstine's poll on romance - here's one about two types of 'forbidden romance'.
BL refers to shounen-ai and / or yaoi. GL is shoujo-ai and / or yuri.
There is no separation according to the gender of the reader because I get the feeling that'll lead to too many unnecessary arguments.
Personally, I don't know where I stand on this issue. I will never read yaoi or yuri, but I might consider shounen-ai and shoujo-ai if the plot sounds interesting. The thing is, I have yet to see any manga of these two genre that manage to keep me interested for more than a couple of chapters.
I think I can guess the results of this one; but well, we'll see.

I read some GL, but absolutely not BL (and I'll never try reading it). My reasoning's kind of flawed, though.

I love both genres, but to be honest, I'm not very fond of yuri. Explicit girl on girl just does not do it for me. 😔

__ I'll have what she's having... please~♥
Err well... I'm sure I've read manga where mild Yuri has been involved, but never have I actually read a manga based soley on Yuri.
Yaoi I don't read, because it bothers me. Yuri doesn't bother me as much as Yaoi does oddly enough...
...To hell with it, I don't read either 🤣

I read anything that interests me and this includes BL, GL.. and you're probably talking about relations(physical/non-physical) between m/m and f/f.
There's 3 or more types of GL, I recall:
the type found in shoujo/josei
the type found in shounen/seinen
the type found in GL magazines/manga
the type found in hentai
I have read all of these.
As for BL, the types found in:
Shoujo/josei, (and probably also seinen)
Boys' Love(non-explicit and explicit),
bara(supposedly there might be other type of manga marketed towards gay men... but i haven't really found it)
Hentai yaoi(I've only found the shota type that's marketed towards straight men and no typical yaoi in hentai so far.)
I also have read all of these. 🙂 I'm sorry if my response comes across as muddled... my brain isn't working at all. 😛 I haven't really read any shounen with shounen-ai except for Tsumakibatsu though. ^^;;
I read some shoujo ai, but that is all.

As for BL I don't like it much, but it's a refreshing change sometimes, BL is very intense.
I especially like junjou romantica

Hell no man, that shit is gay!
Is what I would say, were I a complete tool.
I've read about two or three GL manga. Wasn't all that impressed. It was cute and fuzzy and all that, not really my thing though.
Before that I tried one Shounen-ai, by accident. Didn't hold my interest.beyond the first chapter.
I find two horribly effeminate men staring in each others eyes not very appealing.
I don't know why, but the stories never kept me interested.
I think, maybe part of the appeal is the whole taboo idea of same sex relationships. Having grown up in an environment where such a taboo never existed in the first place, that appeal doesn't apply to me.

@cyclamen-
Thank you for linking to my poll!
Well- I don't read yaoi or yuri and have no intention of doing so in the future.
But, I do read a couple of shounen-ai manga that looked to have interesting plots, and where the BL was mild enough that it didn't get in the way of the story.
I haven't really found a shoujo-ai manga that grabbed my attention; so, for the moment, I don't read GL. I haven't got anything against the genre, though, and I'm willing to have a go at shoujo-ai if and only if I find a manga with an intriguing plot and non-intrusive GL.
So...4th option, I guess.

I read BL / yaoi, and the one yuri I've tried so far was awful, but I'll try some more (better) GL in the future.
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

I love both shounen-ai and shoujo-ai. I prefer my GL as pure-hearted as possible, though, and I don't really like yuri, but I'll read it if the story is good. I even sort of liked Maka-Maka. The only thing I absolutely won't read is that squishy moe fanservice GL in shounen magazines. There are some seinen GL that I'm very fond of, like Octave, but those are all written by women.
I don't think I'll ever read BL. Instinctive phobia perhaps?
I chose the last option.
I don't often read, but I find some interesting.

Oh crap- this got shifted to the yaoi / yuri forum...
I was hoping it wouldn't, 'cause now, the 1st and 6th options won't get any votes. 😐
Oh, well- whatever.
I'm surprised at how open-minded people are, though. The last option has the majority 😲
