I went with the second option, but I'm not sure how important manga is to me. I have been reading manga for the greater part of my life and there has never been a time when I thought about quitting.
While I can go for a long time without reading, I do catch up with everything in the end, since it's a quick and easily accessible form of entertainment.
I've never found manga in general unenjoyable, so I guess it's important to me.

Like some people here reading manga has become something habitual for me. I check the site everyday, and still follow some series but the amount of reading diminished proportionally to the free time I have available, that and some other new hobbies.

Very rarely touch the stuff nowadays except stuff on sadpanda... I mainly watch nowadays, but I might randomly engage in reading of actual stories once a year.

For a really long time, I was at the dependent state of manga-reading.
Then, I pretty much stopped reading manga for a long while after I slowly ended up cutting off my reading of individual manga. I was still reading some though but when I stopped it felt like going cold turkey.

The same happened for me with Western comics. I think it was probably because there's too much pressure to keep up with releases; especially weekly shounen ones.

But, I slowly started reading/re-reading/catching up on longer manga and now I'm getting back in the game! I have missed out on so much. A ton of stories I like finished while I was off-manga. Talk about having a Herculean task to fulfil.

Second option for me. Comics are part of my daily life, but I can certainly live without them if I have something else to occupy my time!

Such as video games. 😀

"So-so... I enjoy it every once in a while"

Admittedly, some of it is due to the fact that I've grown out of the hobby, but mostly its because I don't like most newer mangas. Too many of them are light/web novel adaptations most of which were never good in the first place (either edit more or choose better) or are just straight up rehashes of old mangas (I can only read so many DBZ clones!)

Late response but manga is a super effective form of procrastination for me. Although I enjoy reading it.
Sometimes I read it just for fun
