You don't really need to read anything else, although some parts may seem confusing, after u catch up read the related series and you'll realize parts that u didn't beforehand.

Thanks for the really quick reply... I took a look at Cardcaptor sakura and it did not seem like it would be enjoyable for me to read, too kiddie.
Well, surely it does have a different feeling when you know where the different characters are from. Basically you have to have a good knowledge about Clamp's work. There are quite a lot from X too.

Nope.
I've only read like 2 out of that list, but to be honest xxxHolic is probably the only other one if you really want to read for completion' sake since it's the 'closest' in storyline (where things the TRC characters do sometimes show up in xxxHolic and vice versa, though the pacing in the book differs).
I don't know about the scanlations, but in the Del Ray versions I read, super helpful notes and info on about how certain scenes were related to those in other series were included at the back like an omake. So I pretty much didn't feel like I had to read it with all this stuff.
Why TRC says it's related with so many series is because Clamp likes to reuse characters from their previous series in new ones, so they kinda make cameos but with very different personalities than the original. Honestly, it's not very important to know about them since (from what I read up to before dropping it), it doesn't affect the overall enjoyment or impact the story in any insignificant way.

You must be fecking telapathic and know wtf CLAMP is going about so you don't get confused like many of the readers.
It gets so confusing later on, if you're wondering.
Oh, and some parts in xxxHolic sorta contributes to the story.

No, you don't need to read any other CLAMP series. TRC is more or less self-sufficient, except for the occasional connection to something happening in "xxxHOLiC". It probably wouldn't hurt to at least be familiar with the story and characters in Holics, but you really don't have to read them side-by-side. I didn't follow Holics at all when I was still reading TRC and had no problems. Otherwise, character and pictorial references will go right over your head if you haven't read any of their other work, but that's about it. Dive in!

Thanks i was hoping for something at least semi positive.Man CLAMP must have some greedy bastards in their marketing having them cook up series crossovers. They dont want you to read just one story they make you need to read them all... sounds pretty lame. But looking at the XXXholic(>.> sounded like H manga) it doesn't sound too bad. So ill probably check that out too(sigh).
I'm guessing from looking at some other threads that XXXholic spins off of TRC but at the same time TRC uses elements of XXXholic chaps. I now have no frickin' idea which to read first(for a better understanding of both). It looks like i'd have to read both when they each was released in some whacky parallel order but w/e.
Way to screw the pooch CLAMP you greedy ******s(sounds angrier than i am still parallelseries=greedfail)
Thanks for your insights people.

You're welcome~
Honestly, it doesn't matter what order since like maybe a couple scene every couple volumes intercross, and not at exactly parallel in release chapters. Both are very different genres (and different demographics), so order really doesn't matter, just read what you want.
Personally, I read TRC first, and it took me awhile before picking up Holic. After while, I ended up dropping TRC and still continuing Holic, but that's just my own reading tastes. 🤣
Honestly, xxxHolic isn't an H-manga. See this thread for an explanation: http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=9200

I've read everything on the list for TRC and really it just makes it interesting to see characters from the other series but you only really need to read Holic. Though reading a little of X wouldn't hurt either. Now while I recommend reading Holic you wouldn't really have to until you more into the story like the lastest chapters. But its totally up to you.

You don't need to read anything else, but I'd recommend you read XXXHolic while reading Tsubasa. I would also recommend you read Cardcaptor Sakura; It's better than it looks and one of my favorite's, and there are a few parts in the series that you'll notice or like more if you read it.
I think we've already established that you don't need to read anything else aside from xxxholic...so locked.
