So, I was wondering, is it possible to fall asleep in less than 5 - 10 min?

It has never happend for me, through I can´t say how I was as a child, since I don´t really have any memories since 6th grade (I can remember persons, relationships, places, skills etc., but not actual "scenes"), but ever since then, I havn´t been able to just plainly fall asleep.
Just here last night, I lay awake for more than 4 hours, before I fell asleep. I´m always turning and twisting my body, and I can´t seem to rest. My thoughts dosn´t rest either, not that I have problems I can´t solve (I´m a bit indifferent), it´s just that I´m thinking on one think, and then, before I´m even aware of it, I´m thinking of something else, that has no relation to what I was thinking on before.
But I have noticed one thing, I can´t seem to fall asleep when my feets are cold (only problem is that they´re always cold dead ).

So, what do you do, to fall asleep? Any tricks you can share with me, or just simply tell how you fall asleep... ... ( I have always been very curious bigrazz ...and bad to english.)

To fall asleep, I like down & close my eyes, and that's pretty much it. I usually have music playing, and I rarely hear any song beyond the one playing when I like down. Probably not what you wanted to hear, huh? none

The easiest way to fall asleep quickly is to tire yourself out. You could try exercising more and you should probably avoid caffeine and other stimulants in the evening. It's probably not a good idea to use medication to help you sleep, though, because that won't solve the problem and may even make it worse. I suppose the key really is to relax, because the more anxious you get about not being able to sleep, the more awake you become dead

There are a lot of people out there who suffer from insomnia for no apparent reason. There's lots of information and research about insomnia on the internet if you look around. But if it's really disrupting your lifestyle I would recommend you ask a doctor about it eyes

I don't fall asleep easily either, but it's definitely possible to fall asleep within 5 min; my dad's gone within 30 seconds.

I used to have the same problem, especially during hot summer nights. Something I that seems to work is making some sort of tiny little story as you lay with your eyes closed. Seems childish but it works unusually well.

I have a light sleep and need about an hour or two to fall asleep (always, sometimes even more), but my roommate is asleep in 5 minutes. I hate that. I guess the only thing that you can do (and it works for me) is to have a really exhausting day. Not playing games and read manga. At least an hour walk would be fine, or bicycle. And it helps to sleep only 6-7 hours, that is quite hard for me as I don't need to wake up early. music is not a good choice, if you have a long list you will wake up once in the night (well, I would). dark and quiet. my roommate snores smile ... and I think you could change your pillow and try, I for example can't sleep on a big one, and blanket if it isn't too thick. but the exhausting day is the best option anyway.

as to thoughts: the same story all the time. or sex. A big no-no is thinking about something you can extract. like your dream job, dream house, how you will be in a few years.... there, I always go futher away and it's like 5 am. really. some say thinking about landscapes, but I never could do it for more than a minute. You can try. good luck. you are not alone.

my trick is comic books
I usualy fall asleep under 5minutes after i go to bed
and i allways start reading comic books
i read like 2-3 pages before i start to zzz

try reading comic books

[nice comic books...like disney, asterix, tintin, lucky luke, dragon ball ASO manga and the american super hero kinds are usualy too sexual and or violent... and being sexually aroused or disgusted is not good if you want to sleep]

reading comic books [or books] makes your thoughts go away for a little while...thats when sleep gets you...or something
it might be bcoz i am tired when i actually go to bed...im allwasy tired lol

Go put on an episode of Nova from PBS.

Or go read an upper level textbook.

if you are tired it will knock you out.

I can attest to this. eyes
During my finals week, I can't remember how many times I fell asleep reading my textbook while clutching my yellow highlighter.

Listening to music doesn't help me fall asleep though.

Oh - I had a textbook on Japanese history that put me to sleep really fast. It wasn't that it was boring, exactly, but I had the hardest time staying awake while reading it, even while waiting in the dentist's office or something like that. no

If you can find something that makes you drowsy while reading it, try reading it when you want to sleep and see what happens.

BTW, falling asleep easily has its downside as well - nothing quite like waking up on the bus and frantically trying to figure out if you've slept past your stop. dead

I close my eyes, relax and breathe, then count sheep. I don't remember ever going past 40. Of course, you have to clear your mind of any worries or thoughts or else this method won't work.

I listen to music.
Black Metal, Black Folk Metal, Doom Metal and Progressive Metal especially
work for me, since songs over 15 minutes are not that uncommon
and they lack the repetitive pop patterns that get stuck in your head
and ruin your sleep.

start practicing meditation- which includes relaxing your muscles and emptying your mind. To empty your mind is not to stop thinking exactly, but it requires that you let go of the thoughts that pass through your mind instead of turning it over in your mind.
