Good point... I aslo kind thought Zaraki to be like Broly from DBZ. Broly only achieve the first form of super saiyan, and yet he's as strong as a Super Saiyan 3. If he achieved any level higher than the first stage he's be probably as powerful as SS4 Gogeta. Kenpachi is similar in not achieving Shinkai, yet beating powerful enough to match the other squad leaders... I'm thinking he'd be possibly as strong as the first squad captain if not stronger if he had achieved Shinkai and Bonkai. Just a theory, please don't hurl the stones at me please. 🤢

First of all it's not that simple as "beating someone means you are stronger than him". Against both Kenpachi and Byakuya Ichigo had a reason why he could not afford losing, and motivation has been proved to be a very good power up. When fighting Zaraki this was enough to him the battle, but against Byakuya he won because of Hichigo's appearance. Also whenever Ichigo's hollow mask has been broken or forcibly removed, Ichigo was found way to exhausted to fight. Lastly both Zaraki and Ichigo, being unable to suppress and control their enormous reiatsu, always have their zanpakutous in shikai forcibly, without having to command them, whether they know the name or not (Kenpachi).

I'll agree with you that determination can be considered a power up...
but I disagree with you saying that Kenpachi has his zanpakto in shikai forcibly.
In order to achieve shikai, you need to learn your zanpakto's name. So what Kenpachi has is NOT shikai...
Besides, when a Shinigami can't control their enormous spirit power, then they have an enormous zanpaktou.

Do you recall what Ichigo's father said when he fought off the arrancar that was boasting about his large zanpaktou? He stated that all the captains in Soul Society would walk around with massive swords if they didn't control their spirit pressure

I forgot to proof read, what I meant to say was "being powerful enough." He hasn't achieved shinkai, and yet he's strong enough to match his fellow captains.... Also it seems that he uses his reistu like a shield....

Shikai is the 'released' form of your Zanpaktou.. But Zaraki's reiatsu is so huge, that even if he tried, he couldn't contain his energy in to a compressed form.. He even said that at the fight with Ichigo.. Basically unreleased Zanpaktous are compressed forms of your spirit energy..

Also when Yoruichi was explaining to Ichigo that his Zanpaktou is always in a released state(shikai).. Ichigo then said "Like Zaraki.."..

If it wasn't it would just be a regular looking katana. It is because of his relationship with his zanpakuto that it is in that condition.

That's what I'm talking about Dr.Love, he's pretty powerful enough as it is without releasing his Zanpaktou... If he ever managed to do so then.... Um... He would be virtually unbeatable, an absolute monster so far as power goes....
