Okay, just in response to the other mods, this isn't a repeat thread, so don't lock it. XD This is about the actual facility, and its environment.

And my university is okay. It's far though!

on the bus for 40 minutes

  1. I go to the University of Manitoba.

  2. It's pretty good but since I'm in first year I haven't actually learned anything new so it gets pretty boring.

  3. I don't spend much time on campus so I'm not really sure. I live only 15 minutes away so if I don't have class I go home.

  1. University of Idaho

  2. Yep, it was great! Nice campus, lots of good classes (and of course a few not-so-good, but none were nightmare-ish) and I was able to take a really wide variety of subjects.

  3. Hmmmm well the Greek system (Fraternities & Sororities) was/is pretty active, so lots of drinking parties, but also lots of other things to do; I lived in the dorms at first and there were always activities going on. The town's pretty active for its size, plus there's another University ~10 miles away (Washington State University) so there were/are concerts, events, etc. over there too.

and

  1. Boise State University

  2. It was pretty good, but I had to drive ~45 minutes to get there. 🤢 Classes were good; I was really focused so only took the ones required by my major.

  3. Eh....I don't really know...much more of a "commuter school" than U of I, much less campus community. I was only there for classes & work, and then picked my kids up from daycare & drove the 45 minutes home - and a lot of other students were the same way. 😐

@vildur: I'm from Manitoba! Super cool to see someone else from/in-but-not-necessarily-from (although I don't see why people would go to U of M if they're from out of province 😛 ) Manitoba! 🙂

I currently attend the University of Waterloo. It's pretty nice, at least in my view. Classes are pretty challenging, since I'm in CS, which is the university's specialty (I tried the advanced CS, but that was a little too hard for me). I have a single room in rez, which I think is pretty nice. I suppose it depends where you are and what you're doing. The social environment is okay, I'm not hugely social person though, so I only have a few friends, but it's been pretty good so far!

  1. TUDelft or Technical University Delft in, well, Delft. One of the best science oriented Universities in Europe.

  2. Yeah I guess I kinda like it. It's very open and you have a lot of freedom to do what you want. Also the lab facilities are great.

  3. What you would call a fraternity in English doesn't really exist here. We have something similar but it is not associated with the school itself, there's no campus besides the faculty buildings. Besides, I really am not the type for that kind of thing.
We do, however, have a student organisation that is connected with the faculty. They organise the first year orientation and work groups. They also order the books for the classes, with discount. And I believe this year they are organising a 2 month trip to japan and south korea where several research institutions will be visited.
They also organise other stuff like a game night, a party to celebrate the establishment of the faculty, special lectures and other stuff.

#1. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC-C - not to be confused with UNC, which is in Chapel Hill, NC.)

#2.Do you like it?
Absolutely wonderful school. Not too big, and not too small in my opinion.

#3.What type of social enviroment is it?
About 1/3 of the school commutes from nearby, but there are several dorms on campus. The majority of the fraternities and sororities have houses a few miles away from campus. Only one or two had space on campus. Since they currently don't have a football team, basketball is the primary sport (when we have Homecoming games, etc.). There are lots of international students and some really great colleges of study. It's fairly well known for its Architectural and Nursing schools.

I chose it because:

  1. it offered what I wanted to major in (Spanish) and had an international study program to Spain (my main requirements),
  2. location,
  3. size,
  4. campus activities and involvement.

And I loved every minute of it. =)

😲 Manitoba and Waterloo are in Canada.

  1. I go to Concordia University in Montreal.

  2. It's not a well-known school I don't think. Concordians don't like to admit it but we're pretty much under McGill University's (our more prestigious neighbor down the street) shadow. It's an alright school nonetheless, praised mostly for its Business programs.

One of the gripes I have with Concordia is its nonexistent campus. Its buildings are scattered everywhere, mixed in with other buildings downtown and it's just... blah.

  1. Hm, well we have a lot of diversity in our student body because of all of the international students coming here (that and Montreal's a very multicultural city to begin with). You meet lots of interesting people. But like I said, the lack of campus blows; there isn't really a social "scene" here, or at least I don't feel that there is.

I going to a JC right now, for it costs to much to make up one's mind at a university. Though, I might go to UC Santa Cruz; it just depends on if they have what I want once I decide.

I go to Central Piedmont Community College.

Nothing special. I mean, compared to most other community colleges I'd say it's pretty good. (I'm comparing it to the cesspool of a community college in my hometown.) A lot of the teachers are left overs from the AI of Charlotte and UNCC, so it's like second hand education. 🤣

Most of the students are obnoxious capitalist (I can't say much) yuppies.

Transfering to UNCA (Asheville) next semester though. I'll go from being surrounded by yuppies to being surrounded by over privileged upper middle class wannabe hippies. Woohoo.

#1.
I won't say the name of my school (you never know who might know me from there or who will stalk me 😲 ) but I'm currently a Junior in high school. It's a magnet school and one of our schools in one of the top high schools of the country 😀

I'd like to go to UT Southwestern for med school.

#2.Do you like it?

Yeah it's cool here. I like all my classes and think our school is unique by the fact we have 6 schools packed into a giant school when combined xD

#3.What type of social enviroment is it?

There's less things to worry about like gangs or other things like that. People here are interesting though of course some think they are superior but that's nothing new >.> It's high school.

I think it's fun acutally. My crazy friends and meeting new people is fun 😀

I'm finishing up a computer programming degree at Wake Tech. Next semester will be my last one there.

#2
I take my classes online, perhaps going there once or twice a year, so I can't really comment on the campus much. Based on what I've seen it's a pretty nice place.

#3
They have a recreational room next to the cafeteria with a ping pong table, a TV, tons of computers, and lots of furniture. I'd probably hang out there more if the school wasn't an hour away from where I live 🤣

And yes, from what I've seen the students there are way more mature than high-schoolers.
