Couldn't find a thread where you could just say your thoughts about the latest developments in Claymore.
And oh wow.
Easley is dead! And Nr. 1 & 2 are out to get Riful.

I truly can't believe it either. This chapter was totally awesome, I have a feeling the reign of the Abyssal ones will really end soon. Then the story might switch to the bigger picture outside of the island.

That was a great chapter. I was woundering why they split up. Now Im woundering whats going to happen when
#s 1&2 reach Riful. Only problem I have with Claymore is that it comes out once a month.
I am a little confused.
Did Easley drive Pricilla and Raki away because of the Abyssal Eaters or do the Eaters come after he drove the two away?
I find it rather sad that Easley dies reflecting on his restoring humanity. This is only compounded because I interpreted Easley shooing Raki and Pricilla away because of the Eaters but now I am not so sure.

just read it!
Yeah, I think Se3D03 is right. As soon as the reign of the abyssal ones is over, we will see what happens outside of the island.
What I want to know is who and how Priscilla will be killed. Clare is way powerful than she was before but do you think she can win a battle Easley wasnt capable of? Or those new creatures that defeated Easley will kill Priscilla too? Seems natural that Clare will only take a part if a battle comes up, but I dont know if she will be satisfied if she doesnt kill Priscilla with her very own sword. What do you think?

I dont even know if it's a horrible way to die with naked women on top of his body and eating his guts off. Easley will be missed.. 😢 🤢 😢
Alicia and Bess (or was it Beth??) reappearence after 7 years..omigosh, their cold beauty and cool-a** uniform never cease to amaze me.

Well, remember the abyssal eaters do not wanted anybody else except Easley? Why would he wanted Raki and Priscilla away? To not see his dead, maybe? Its an emotional view, but I think it makes sense, after his last words, right?
Couldnt we change the thread title for "89 discussion - spoilers ahead" or something like that? Everything we say here is kind of spoilerish, isnt?

Yeah! Its kind of funny that we miss a "bad guy", isnt?
But I thought that too, what a strange death for such a beautiful creature. He was so charming as a human and so amazing in his true form! I love that scene when Priscilla is facing him because, even knowing she is more powerful than him, she seems surprised with his form. 😃

yes..Isley is just like Ligardes, I'm sure he will be missed. Especially amongst Claymore fangirls like me who seems to think that Claymore is so Bishie-deprived XD
I find his death to be very disturbing and yet, so...'human'..I kinda agree with your post about him being emotionally attached and thinking about Priscilla and Raki in his last moments. I'll probably wait for another version of the translation from other scanslation groups and re-read his last words again. Personally, the current chapter translation is a bit vague to me.. but still, it's a beautiful end for the world's very FIRST Claymore warrior....

The once a month thing is KILLING me.
Maybe Priscilla has a similar scent to him, so he drove her away so that those things (forgot the name) wouldn't attack her on accident? But I would think that since they go off of nothing but smell, they would have a good enough sense of smell to be able to tell two awakened ones apart. Then again, he could throw them off for a bit by mixing in with humans so maybe it wasn't such a great sense of smell. Uh, I think I just contradicted myself like three times haha.
Isley's death deserves a spot in the Epic Death thread fo sho.

I never really cared about Isley for the obvious reason that he's not a girl, and also because he mainly associates with characters I really don't like much (Priscilla and Raki), but that was still a pretty intense scene. It helps that his awakened form is really cool looking and that the abyss feeders are really creepy.
I'll be curious to see what happens with Alicia and Beth being brought back into the picture.
Overall, a good chapter.
Tree + Taco = Tree taco.
Priscilla would easily defeat the Abyss Eaters. I mean, when Isley and Priscilla met she defeated him in an instant... She's all powerful, yo. 🤣
And is anyone else sensing some upcoming drama between Priscilla, Raki and Clare. 🤣 Priscilla's going to die in the end, that's what I believe.

After I read this chapter I realized, that our heroines do not have a slightest hope against the organization. 😲
I started to think maybe they have to combine they power with the remained awakened beings.

that was SO SAD! isley was my fav villain right after riful 🙁 how he reflected back to his life as he was dying was my second favorite scene right after the scene where clare tore up that one lion king guy
i loved his abysmal form too! he was a good villain, but now that the author is eliminating all the former villains, i think she's going to introduce some new bad guys to the story (those nasty naked creatures) or maybe whatever creature that'll arise from former no.5 & former abysmal one
sad 😢

(I don't see a need to use spoiler tags in thread labeled "Most Recent Chapter Discussion", so I won't... Read at your own risk.)
Isley didn't get as much screen time (if you can say so about a manga) as he deserved. :-/ And now, it's too late, probably...
I think Isley drove Raki and Priscilla away because got scared of actually reverting back to human. It's a common thing about "monstrous villains": even if he didn't know about the Feeders, he probably understood well enough that he's made himself some rather tough enemies and if he stopped being the uber-villain, he'd a) die and b) let Raki, if not Priscilla, suffer and die, too.
About the Feeders, I'm afraid to think what's gonna happen after Feeders kill off Riful and devour Luciela (unless she awakens, pun not intended). If the Organization doesn't find a way to sick the Feeders onto Priscilla (of whose existence I don't think they are aware any more) or those enemies of theirs on the mainland, they'll have themselves an empty island faster than they can realize what's happening...
Basically, they've just invented a swarm intelligence: as long as one mindless element survives, the swarm can rebuild itself and proceed with its primary objective, that is, killing whatever moves...
