The end of volume 2 is showing more interesting potential . What do you think Shiro 's body got many scars ? maybe she used to be an experiment too. consider when she turned into real killing machine.

I quite agree with you on the Shiro theory. Most probably she was used in some kind of experiment, I think she even might have been created as an experiment.
And poor Crow (I'm always sympathetic towards losers. Eh.) But I don't think he really cares about losing that eye, y'know. It rather made him consider Ganta more seriously. He will probably be kind of 'onii-san' to Ganta, but at the same time he may strive to defeat and best the Woodpecker. (Woody woodpecker comes to my mind... Anyone remembers that cartoon?)
I wonder about Takami. Is he really a cold-hearted bastard who thinks only about gaining CP (although I suspect he does so in order to buy himself a shorter sentence) or will he really become Ganta's friend.

I think he'll become Ganta's friend in the long run, since manga just works like that. But if I were to hazard a guess, I would say that Takami is actually innocent of whatever crime he was stuffed in their for, and finding out that Ganta's innocent will enable them to actually be friends.

/agree on the Shiro being created as an experiment idea as well.

Was she the childhood friend of Ganta ( she looks like the little girl in Ganta 's memory ) ? 🙂 but I'm not sure. Therefore she maybe used to be a normal person and got caught into DW and was through many horrific experiment ... ( she was not created ) _ Also, dunno she was guilty or not to end up there >:-(

Director, probably. Although he said 'Woodpeckers', not 'Woodpecker'. I wonder if that means that Shiro and Ganta are the two Woodpeckers. A team, huh, it would make sense, wouldn't it?

@Crenshinibon - I think he is guilty, but he had a good reason to commit that crime. I don't know why, but he gives me the vibe of a brother who tried to help his sibling or a child who tried to help his parent and got busted.

I think shiro and ganta are somehow connected to each other power wise you know. They used to play together and shiro used to beat ganta up. Maybe they were trying to awaken ganta's power and the crazy explosion that whipped tokyo out was caused by shiro and ganta's power fighting the red man.

I doubt it...In my opinion they were just normal children and Shiro just liked to beat up Ganta, but Ganta's persistence attracted Shiro to him and they became childhood friends that Ganta forgot about >_>...I think it was at a later part that Shiro got her powers and Ganta never had powers until he was visited by the Wretched Egg(Red Man)

About the loosing bodypart thingie... Isn't it strange that no other deadman has lost any bodypart? They all seem to be "fully equipped," even though, while listening to Crow, it sounds like they've fought each other before.

Seeing as how this manga is extremely dark, I wouldn't be surprised if they can buy their body parts back, or at least buy somethin to replace it.
