hey guys!!

I have a bit of an oddball request... I'm looking for manga that deals with child soldiers. it can be anything from organized exploitation of children, training them to be soldiers in rebel camps, assassins, etc... It's kind of Blood Diamond inspired theme i wanted to read about. just got around to watching that movie. really good btw. 😀

oh it's also be great if they ended up going into some sort of psychological treatment to help them get cured.

Thanks for your help in advance!

PS. I'm sure the first thing that's going to pop up is going to be Gunslinger Girl, but I've already read it ^_^

And I've also read Monster.

The closest thing I can think of that relates to your topic is Battle Royale
Pretty good but the novel beats the movie and manga.

Ares - the main characters themselves are pretty young and could be called child soldiers, but one of them also raises an army of younger child soldiers for his own use.

Bokurano - it is about children who have to become mecha pilots, and many of them die.

Claymore - some of the Claymores are young and child-like.

ah yea.. forgot to mention Arms and Eden

There's also an Arc in between vol. 18-20 in Psychometrer Eiji about a Japanese kid and his sister got involved in a plane crash in the Columbian forest,

they were kept hostage by the guerillas, their parents were killed and the siblings ended up being raised by two different rebel faction. The guy became a very skilled assasin..ended up killing the entire guerillas (burnt his sister alive in the process), it's one of the best manga arc I've ever read!
