Herbal Essences, baby! I use Hello Hydration, Long Term Relationship, Color me Happy and Totally Twisted off and on.
YES! I just use random ones based on the scent, not because they're formulated for my hair or anything... Long Term Relationship's the one I'm currently using, actually. They all smell so freaking good, though... sighs

Yes, someone who understands! I've used all of those as well as the Drama Clean. I just love their scents and they make my hair feel nice. 🙂 (They're also the only shampoos I've ever used the matching conditioner with.)
@Dr. Love
I think I know the one you're talking about and if I do, you smell heavenly.

I go through phases where I use various brands based on impulse. I really like herbal essence and garnier fructis because of their lush smells, but they don't work for me because my hair remains oily when I use them 🙁
The only brands so far that work for me have been Head and Shoulders and a Singapore-brand shampoo called "Ba Wang".

I use Finesse, but mostly anything will do. Pantene tends to leave hair shiny but limp because of all the conditioning stuff its got in it.
The one brand I strongly, strongly urge people to stay away from is Suave. It's super cheap, but it has lots of harsh chemicals in it and it will literally perm your hair for you. I have curly hair but if I use that stuff more than a couple of times, it straightens my hair--and not in a nice way (it gets all dry and fuzzy-looking). 😛

Wait, are you saying by using conditioner, I'm getting rid of my curls?

I can't be 100% sure since everyone has different types of hair, but from my own experience, yeah sort of. It's not that conditioner gets rid of my curls, it just seems to make less of them and they are much flatter and more limp--sorta like limp spagetti, or a perm that's growing out. It doesn't look that good. (Which is why I don't usually use it.)
But it pretty much depends on the texture of your hair, I think. If you have coarse, dry hair, then the conditioner probably wouldn't do that, it would just be making your hair less brittle and softer. I don't perm or dye my har--or over-wash it (I wash my hair every other day). So it's in good condition, which is why the conditioner isn't really necessary in my case, and also why using it produces those results. But the conditioner certainly doesn't damage my hair, unlike Suave which does.
Head & Shoulders is my sham, yo.
Hair is smooth, smells nice, and straight as it can be!

Several depending on which bathroom I use....
Head & Shoulders
Herbal Essences
Thermasilk
(yes rather feminine brands)
and usually American Crew.
If I use one for an extended period of time my hair starts becoming demented... for example if I use H&S too much my scalp gets irritated, too much American Crew and my hair suddenly has alot more split ends.

I'm all bout the randomness. 🤣 I use Dove damage therapy. But, if Herbal Essences actually did what the commercials like to portray while you're washing your hair, I'd so use that. 🤣

Maybe someone is profiling you according to the shampoo brand you use 🤣
On topic, I'm not picky about shampoo brands.
