Something like Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni or School Days - while Higurashi had "many" endings and most of them were bad, School Days (at least anime) had really bad ending. Something that begins happily and then the main characters slowly step into their own self-destruction.

deep love mangas and 5 centimeters but its an anime movie
i was nervous at first it was big & long & went straight up i had to try it i eased onto it & liked it! i went up & down on it.... i love escalators now! 😀

Winter Flowers is a tragic one-shot. (although I personally thought it was sorta stupid...) But if you're looking for a quick read I'd recommend it to you.

5/cm was awesome, but it was more realistic than sad- the distance was just natural.
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is pretty awesome, but it's not disturbing like Higurashi or School Days.
