Did anyone watch American Idol the other day? Oh-muh-Gahd. This made me want to rage with a passion of 1000 suns. ><; This really did not give anime fans a good impression. If you haven't seen the video, here's the link...

lol I didn't expect there would be a post for this XDD wheee~ but anyway,
Yes! I'm with you D: I was doing my hw while watching it and when I heard the word japanese animation, I quickly perked up so anyway, I was disappointed and pissed. I actually cried out that this is going to give off a horrible image of anime fans, the so-called "stereotypes" <_<
and here I was wishing she could show something XD But yeah, I give her points for trying even though it was upsetting.

Second
My manga/anime hobby will stay with me until the grave. No one in my family (save for my 10 year old cousin who watches Bleach), none of my friends know I read/watch manga/anime. It's unfortunate but manga/anime is misunderstood by many people, mainly due to shounen anime shows like Pokemon which plague every cartoon channel. If I tried to get my friends or family to watch a mature anime series such as Monster they would instantly say, 'it's a cartoon, therefore a waste of time'.

hm.... it wasn't that horrible. I expected worse. What was shown: Some girlie wearing a (for most people) strange outfit, liking Japanese stuff and singing terribly. I don't think many will care about his.... there were way worse candidats worth remembering!

I watched it with my sister when it aired.
This might sound really mean but oh my. I was a wee bit embarrassed since my sis doesn't like anime and... well, that girl really didn't help. I am so not like that.
I expected worse, though.

This is the kind of person that I dislike the most : the type which thinks is very talented and above others and wants to show off despite of the fact that he/she has actually no talent at all. She should have been put with her feet on the ground a long time ago. Oh and "Singing is my life."? Excuse me, but if your life resumes to only an activity which you stubbornly stick to even though you are like water and oil together then perhaps you don't deserve to live at all. Life is far more complex than to limit it to a single thing.
Anyway, as far as anime/manga is concerned I don't think that anybody should keep quiet about it. I mean if you like it you don't need to feel embarrassed or concerned about how the others feel about it. It's just another case of differences between people's likes (e.g "A" likes cabbage, "B" doesn't. It won't change the world. The end.). And also, not all people are close minded and put a group of people in the same category (e. g.: A group of people like cabbage. One of them likes to pick his nose. That doesn't mean the others pick their noses too right?). So again, if you like anime/manga it doesn't mean that you are like that girl. And that's the end of my cabbage analogy. And no, I don't like cabbage.

If American Idol works in a similar way to X Factor, people have to go through auditions before they even get to the judges.
For those who are crap, and still get through, it's giving them false hope and the fact that they think they're good is reinforced in their minds because they've gotten through those rounds. And it's all merely for entertainment purposes.
I can just imagine people going "Wtf is up with the orange jacket?" when they were watching it 🤣
I found it hilarious myself. I can never take those kind of people seriously.

If I were to judge an audition where a talentless person with high self-esteem appeared I think I'd let her pass in order to get crushed in the real contest. And that's the end of the lesson. Because sometimes facts are more important than the actual words of discouragement. In her case it was both.

I loled.
Many many times.
🤣
This was nothing, but mere entertainment to me. I still don't care what others think of my hobbies. Hopefully, not everyone in this world are moronic enough to assume that all anime and manga enthusiasts are like this person. Hopefully.
She's harmless, let her believe that she's a great singer. She's only hurting herself in the end, anyways.
lol

Whats wrong with you? She is embarrassment for the anime/manga fans? Is it all fine and well only if she past to the next round?! The girl stood straight in front of millions of people and gave all she had. If you are not happy go do better! It
s not her faux that otaku isn`t compliment. Ask the thousands over-40-fat-fags watching sailor moon whose faux it is.
PS: Sorry I got a little angry -.- But still don`t like the general response from the anime/manga community
