Hello everyone~
I'm looking for something similar to Koukou Debut ^o^
Recently I got really, really addicted to it, so while waiting for more chapters to be released, I've decided to try looking for similar manga ^_^
Preferably something that's long. A couple of volumes is fine, just something that I can take time reading and getting to know the characters, with a bit of drama and/or comedy. Oh, and good art, of course 😃 Also, please no whiny heroines who sit and wait for their heroes to save them. That's one of the things I really like about Koukou Debut; Haruna isn't a weakling! Her and Yoh's relationship is more balanced and I like that a lot 🙂
I haven't read very much scanlated shoujo, so this is totally new to me 🤣
Please and thank you for all your help! 🙂

Hmm...maybe W Juliet, or Parfait Tic, orr...Venus Capriccio. Very strong-minded female leads.^^
hangs out in the thread cause she's also looking for similar manga. XD

Skip Beat has a lot of similarities. The main character of Skip Beat is pretty crazy, so weak doesn't even begin to describe her after the first chapter. It's the best shoujo I've ever read.
edit: oh, and I think that Hana Kimi kinda sucks. Power!! does the same sort of thing better.

Tokyo Crazy Paradise is also awesome, with a very strong female lead, but it gets more into futuristic/sci-fi and action/fighting. I love it, though. 😀

By the same mangaka as Skip Beat.

I think that Lovely Complex is somewhat similar to it... maybe the lead female's character is not as strong as the one in Skip Beat but it's a great comedy 🤣
However, I have only read 3 or 4 volumes and then switched to anime (it has 24eps)... I'm not a great fan of anime in general (I prefer manga) but I fell in love with it right after watching the first episode 😃 😀

I had the same thought. It's very similar in style/feel/structure, but different enough that it doesn't feel like a clone. Plus memorable characters who all have different looks, and Risa's pretty strong in her own way-one manga that doesn't seem like all the others.
If you just want strong heroines, Ouran or Perfect Girl Evolution may fit. Neither manga takes itself seriously, and both tend to lose track of their main plot/character development arcs, but they've got awesome herione's who don't particularly care for hero's, much less wait around to be saved. Ouran's got the better art and character development of the two, but PGE's got a stronger transformation arc if that's what you're looking for.
There's also trying other stuff by the same author. Her oneshots are pretty cute. (And if you're willing to give one shots a try, "The Kidnapping of Mina Jo's Boyfriend" may be your speed.)
