Unlike what a lot of people have said i find this manga too fast paced. Everyone is introduced within the first couple of chapters, the romance begins far too quickly and everything that happens is kind of, well, boring.
I don't really like Ito or Makoto that much, in fact, i forget their names constantly. I don't even know the names of other characters, i haven't bothered to learn them. One character did stand out, the short little brat, and only because i hated her so much. Maybe that's a success...?
Anyway, read at your own boredom/peril/whatever.

Two Sides...

This is a very orginal crossdressing manga, and it certainly has its unique points to it. There IS a story, but it progresses really slowly, and most of the manga is kind of set up like an episodic line of tales.

I found reading this manga was sometimes like a chore. It's repetitive, and there's no actual romantic tension between the heroine and members of love triangle. While the female rival is actually kind of cool, the male rivals are just plain posessive and thoughtless. It's like they're just addicted to this girl for no reason.

Art was pretty nice. I didn't find it really engaging. This manga is another one of those 'Good Guys Win All', 'Good Guys are Always Right' stories. It's almost disgusting how every situation turns in favor of the main leads.

I thought this manga was really original. Including the fact that the girl looked almost too disturbingly male to fully enjoy the story. I think I'd like the story better if the girl's and the guy's appearances were switched; but well that would ruin the whole purpose of the story...

I don't get it...

I've tried to read this several times, and I just can't get into it. I typically prefer gender benders where the girl is cross dressing, but i'll read the other way around too and enjoy it. This one not so much though. Maybe it's because the female lead was so masculine. When females dress up like males, the male lead is still very masculine, even more so because he has to out- masculine the female lead... but in this manga the female lead almost tries to out-masculine the male lead, and he tried to be more feminine. I'm not really into guy on guy and i think that's what this manga is aiming for. In hana kimi for example, you can always tell who the man is and who the woman is, even though they're both 'men'. In this one, you really can't tell by only looking you would have to read the story to know who is male and who is female, because it always looks reversed. And because of that, when there's a love scene you kind of get the sense that it's really guy on guy.

I read up until the first volume the first time, the second volume the second time, the sixth volume the third time... i keep trying because after a while, you run out of decent gender benders, but this one just never seems to redeem itself.

Best among the best.

This is among my first mangas that I love during the Viz's reign over TokyoPop. Yes, the first chapter can be a bit awkward because it rushed the love a bit. The author did say that she was surprised that her fans asked for the sequel, so after the first chapter, the art and story did improved dramatically.

I love it, what can you say? It gives you a sweet feeling and the comedy is hilarious. I love Ito; tomboyish and strong and act like her brothers. It cracks me up how similar we both are when I was a kid. Makoto is funny in his own way since he's using the way of females to get out of pinch situations. The dodging and hiding of Makoto's real gender is the main focus of this manga and it had became the center point of humor. Aside from that, the side characters' development that made me attach to several of them.

This manga keeps growing and growing in character and story development. I find it surprised that several people don't like it. I do understand that sometimes, we get frustrated with the side characters because they act stupid and supposedly doing something to hinder the couple, but I think it's not that frustrated compare to other mangas I've read. Those frustrating side character did grow-up and became tolerable, although sometimes they are made to be the comedy relief for certain chapters.

So character development is a 10, story is a 10 and humor is 10+, the art is 10++. What can I say? Give this manga a try and it's definitely worth the hardcopy.

Don't Hate It

You know, I don't hate this manga. I wouldn't even say I didn't like it, or it's "OK". Truth is, I actually quite like it. I admit, Ito knew Makoto was a boy in the first chapter, and they were in love in the second chapter. The rest of the manga were their adventures while waiting for Makoto to graduate so they could finally be together. The transformation in Ito is actually quite remarkable, and so true! After a girl falls in love once, she's a girl forever. The only thing I didn't really like about this manga was the acting aspects. Because for the majority of the manga, acting didn't seem like a big deal, but there was suddenly a huge change where everything was about acting.

predictable. I like gender bender, but this wasn´t good at all. Ito pushes everybody into their "ambitions", even little kids... And she even don´t have one. I disliked her. The bad thing was she found out about Makoto too soon. No funny misunderstandings which are good for gender bender and they were together from first volume... Other guys never really had a chance. Why put them there anywayconfused I don´t really get why people like this.

i was kinda embarassed that i skip this manga so many times. however, i'm glad that i tried it since it became one of my favorites. i just love how the story progress. i found another heroine who's not winny and weak, i'm so glad. makoto-san is really interesting as well. the art was done very well and you can really see the characters expression. truly, one of the best that i've read. i 100% recommend this manga to everyone.

WHAT THE HECK?! This manga was surprisingly amazing! i didn't expect it to be this GREAT! At first i was hesitant cuz i mean.. Makoto looks like a chick and Ito looks like a boy and at first i was uncomfortable with the whole gender-bender concept but you get used to it since Makoto acts like a boy when he's himself (He's actually very very manly, just for the heads up.) I loved the whole concept of "never giving up on your dream" because it very much relates to everyone and the reality of chasing the "impossible" and the concept of hard work. The characters were also very likable, especially Ito because of her strength and determination! Very unique manga, each volume served a purpose and was very entertaining. Amazing, Loved it and the characters were truly inspirational.
A manga definitely worthy of a 10.

I was totally surprised how much i ended up liking this manga! I was really hesitant to read this for so long because i was afraid it was going to be all about acting like Glass Mask. However it was a good combo of their ambition to be actors and love for one another. The pace was excellent with enough progression you did not get bored and more intimacy than a usual shojou manga shows. BUT the only thing i didn't get, is why so many ppl were obsessed with the ITO, the main heroine. Not only does her brothers have a sister complex, but she is always kidnapped by her persistent 3 stalkers...Also both main characters are tough martial artists, so why the hell did they never beat the living day lights out of the guy who keeps screwing with Mako?? Besides those two quirks, if you like sweet romance with actions and gender bender this is a must read bigrazz

Honestly dis manga is one of a kind. Should be much more highly rated. I think some people are put off by the summary. The guy aktuli acts like a guy. Hez not a true trans or nything. The girl, damn shez one of my favourite heroines out. So strong, tough, determined, she was the one who made dis manga unique. She is one of the few heroines that doesnt freakn cry every chapter or so. When she does, u feel dat it is totally right for that circumstance. Yes she lacks femininity(if datz a word lol) but over the course of the manga she bekumz more feminine and her personailty more than makez up for it. Such great character development as well for most characters most importantly the girl Miura. even though its long, it neva dragged for me and i felt sad that it had ended. It also had such a great ending with mostly every character's destination being resolved. Most of the characters had depth to them. I can go on and on faa so good. Art is really good as well. Just read it!!
