You know what? Screw being Hokage. Naruto's true calling is writing Hallmark cards: "I've only grown as strong as I have because of your help ... Thank you for everything." When you care enough to send the very best.

I'm w/ the previous poster, it'd be good to see him following in his Jiraya's legacy in more ways than one ^_^

Quote from Identity Crisis

Defeat evil with hugs.

Brilliant.

So if Naruto just hugged Sasuke or kissed him, all the evil will go away.... 😐

No that won't work for Sasuke, because he needs the hard gay sort of lovin'...

Quote from tactics

Is it me, or is Naruto defeating everyone with his words rather than his fists?

Speech therapy ftw? 🤣

Naruto's speech therapy no jutsu is already a given fact.
I recall a discussion going on about it hundreds of chapters ago... And more recently with Pain's therapy session...

🤣 either way seems like a good turn out to me,
can't honestly say that i didn't expect this "defeat of his dark half" to turn out this way
T_T but it's so adorable nonetheless!

Wait... does this mean... that EmoNuto the super crybaby that is GAY, is finally gone??

If that is truly the case, then this chapter isn't a complete waste of time

Sadly, I think it is regular Naruto who is the gay emo super crybaby. Dark Naruto was an angry badass and had some cool potential. (And he was probably Naruto's last vestige of heterosexuality since he wasn't all into the hug.) Therefore the manga had to eliminate him.

actually...if you think about it, if it's evil NARUTO, he must have most of the same tendencies as the regular naruto, just cooler and more "badass"
I doubt the hug thing could have worked if sakura, for example, was fighting evil sakura.

...am I the only one who actually liked this chapter?
Naruto has been boring for quite a long time now but this chapter actually moved me.

Look past the hug and corny lines. It's not about being gay. (C'mon, how old are we?)
As corny as the scene and the lines were, they got the message out.

Sometimes, how much do we really give ourselves credit? That pat on the back every now and then.
How much confidence do we have in ourselves? Deny it as you may, but the fact is that this (manga/anime) community is quite full of people with low self esteem.

"Believe in yourself" - Quite a common message in Shounen, delivered in many variations of corny one-liners and what not, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a beautiful one IMO.

I agree. I'l be honest...this chapter made me a little teary-eyed. There isn't a lot of things that do that to me, but Naruto still does....even after all these years.

And really....the whole "GAY" thing is getting kind of old....

Cry over naruto? happened ONCE, in certain bridge with a cat

Now really, with all the manga that can destroy your emotions and make you cry like a little girl and wish that idiot had come sooner to save your beloved character... you choose a super gay scene (not gay in that sense, but cheese and LAME) to cry over? WOW just WOW

Man, you just don't make fun of that.
People feel what they feel. You can't judge someone because of that.

I am not making fun... I am just utterly impressed and speechless

I guess my emotions have been systematically destroyed by slice of life manga, and can no longer cry at shonen... then again Mahou Sensei Negima managed to blast me away a few chapters ago.. so I dunno

how many people cried over this bullshit chapter, that hug scene just wasn't that emotionally powerful. I mean if there's a chapter in Naruto cry over you'd have to go back to when Jiraiya died or when naruto was told he died but not this shit.

I don't know.... I guess I just found the chapter to be heartwarming. Watching Naruto accept his darkness and vow to believe in himself just got to me.

Or maybe I'm just a big baby.... 🤣

You my man are correct. It wasn't a powerful moment at all. Kishi could have done it much better.
Jiraiya's death, Itachi's sacrifices and death, Tsunade crying for Jirayia. Those were much more emotional then the part with Naruto and his evil part. It feels like he got lazy and didn't want to spend anytime at it. You just don't say "Oh, i'm over all the bad treatment I got in my life, im gonna be happy now....."

I don't think Naruto was just suddenly over all the bad treatment in his life, but rather he had to accept it to begin to get over it. Bee's story inspired him to do that. Similar to how Naruto inspired Inari to stand up for his village or Gaara to stop being so mean and full of angst.

It may not have been as powerful as the other scenes mentioned, but the point still got through.
