In my opinion Bleach is the best so far. Though I really hate how they still incorporate everyone from the bounto arc like Kariya and the 3 composite souls, they should have all disappeared after that arc, they ruined when Grand Fisher was chasing Kon and Renji's fight and now Kariya with Ichigo fighting Hollow Ichigo. They are all just time fillers and I hate it. Naruto is gonna become worse after they meet Sasuke after the gap for many reasons such as
Sasuke is so strong compared to Naruto that it's not even funny plus they make the sharingan look so bad-ass that no one can beat it, after 2 1/2 years of training with Jiraiya, Naruto still hasn't learned shit all, all he's showed is a stronger rasengan, better chakra controls with Kage bushin, and he can go 4 tails with Kyuubi, but nothing else at all. Also after meeting Sasuke again and getting his ass kicked Kakashi trains Naruto to learn a new move(funny didn't he go away for 2 1/2 years to become stronger, really seems like he didn't at all) and after using this new move once he can't use it anymore. I don't know what the mangaka is thinking, but Naruto is going so downhill. If you read the spoiler you will know why Bleach is so much better then Naruto right now, but ya the whole bounto people pisses me off, but I really hope after this we will never see them again. Also I don't see Naruto becoming better then Bleach anytime soon, if at all.
Finally, someone who has the same view as me.

What happened is that Bleach is getting deeper into DBZ's "new enemies appear, get stronger than I've ever been in 9 days, then defeat them" thing where as with Naruto we pretty much know where it will end(dunno if it's a spoiler, but whatever)
when Akatsuki is disposed of and Sasuke and Naruto decide to kill each other.... we know it will happen
It's part of the reason I've stopped watching both the animes and have decided to just read the mangas.

Both fail at this point.
Naruto fell into the 'power up, power up!' trap around the time of the Chuunin Exams, but 'power' insofar as chakra level, sheer strength, etc. still mattered less than skill.
Not anymore, though. They're friggin' NINJAS, you'd think they'd know to use a bit more strategy than 'run at enemy and hope you hit him with a doomsday jutsu.' I have absolutely no idea how either Kakuzu OR Hidan managed to become S-Rank criminals.
Naruto(the series) would still be so friggin' cool
if the fighting didn't suck so much and Sasuke wasn't a stone-cold emo queen and they didn't introduce unnecessary characters and the Akatsuki actually MATTERED instead of being mid-level bosses who get wiped out with what seems like a lot of effort but is actually ridiculous ease.
Bleach though, Bleach was always like DBZ, so the only real problem I have with the way it's playing out right now is that A) it's playing down the comedy that made it so awesome in the first place and B) it's severely underpowering all of Soul Society, even though the captains were basically made out to be gods.
I mean, come on, Ishida had to give up his Quincy powers to try to kill a single captain, and now he can take out friggin' arrancars with relative ease. It's ridiculous.
I dunno. I rather like Ulquiorra's character for absolutely no reason, because he's basically Sasuke minus the personality and angst and plus better character design, but meh.
Who really cares about the anime at this point. I might watch Shippuuden to see what they do with the fight scenes, but that's it.

Bleach has always been more mindlessly and American superhero action oriented than any of the 'Big 3' (Naruto, One Piece and Bleach). As usual I watched the 1st new Bleach from the manga story and thought they did a great job on action (where Naruto Shippuden failed to demonstrate imo). That said, quickly the story caught up to this god awful hueco mundo arc which continues Bleach's childlike storytelling compared to the vastly superior Naruto (wait till the Sasuske snake story or Hidan vs. Shikamaru). I haven't caught Bleach's latest ep but I will say for a good anime conversion..one should check out Claymore which has been phenomenal as well as Death Note, Busou Renkin.

1st of all Naruto has never been a power up series. I honestly don't understand how people get this impression. Please explain! Neither Naruto, Gaara, Shikamaru ++ has increased much in "power" since the beginning. They're just more mature, and know theier own abileties better.
The battles are stretegic. I don't even wanna begin explaining that if you fail to see it.
The level between a Great ninja and a Good ninja (e.g Hidan and Naruto) isn't that huge as a normal shonen (Bleach, DBZ) usually makes it. It's just 'cause people are used to the huuuge difference, thus interprets it this way. You can't say that the vilains are too weak and compare the series with DBZ at the same time. That doesn't make sense.
I partly agree with that Bleach stuff you wrote. 1st the captains was the unreachable feat. Now the arrancars make 'em seem like pawns. But the series is still good for what it is imo.
Edit:
uh on topic... Both imo are kinda lame... I've always favored the mangas. And the animes kinda ruined my impression with 'em.

If only Bleach and Naruto weren't so popular-- they wouldn't bother with filler story arcs at all then. I don't understand why companies don't just pause the development of manga-based anime... I think it'd be more effective in the long run. I know a lot of people are looking forward to the second seasons of anime such as Code Geass and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya-- why not do the same with other series?
Do filler story arcs help maintain a steady viewing rate? I can't understand who would want to watch a non-canon storyline while waiting for the real storyline...

I agree about the Bleach part. But I'm kind of disappointed with Naruto right now. Kishimoto is messing with all of the characters' personalities. It's starting to really annoy me. Plus only a few characters got better outfits. lol And I think that if Naruto went away for 2 years to train he should have some better moves than what he came out with. 😃

Well I think Naruto more of needed learn to control his chakra then learn new jutsu also just teaching him a new jutsu is hard with his being stupid and all. Anywho, what you're talking about consists more about the manga, IMO.

well, I didn't even realize the bount arc was filler until I looked in wikipedia, and once I started to get into the manga... it was ok... but the later episodes after the bount arc were lame because they have to account for the 3 mod souls that shouldn't exist... man they're annoying... ugh.

you also have to look at what happened immediatly after naruto came back
he and sakura did the bell test again and this time demonstrated teamwor skill and knowledge far beyond what they had done before they forced kakashi to start off without his book and then even made him use the sharingan forceing to constantly be on the run because he couldnt disable the both of them at once and they didn't go at him alone
and naruto has a better plot altogether i think because it has more than one part to it its got his quest to become hokage the loss of his friend sasuke dealing with haveing a monster inside him akatsukis hunt for him the semi romance deal with sakura rivalrys with the other former leaf genins
bleach on the other hand is defeat enemy rest ahhh new enemy gain strength defeat enemy rinse and repeat
i still read and watch both of them though and bleach would be better off if it still had that humor component i agree but it is still pretty good

I prefer Bleach. Shippuden had gotten pretty bad in my opinion. The whole puppet fight was garbage until episode 26. BUt anime usually run like 26 episodes so i'm guessing that was something like a "season finale" here in the US and we won't be seeing anything with that level of animation quality for another 26 episodes.
Bleach has been consitently good for a while now. Outside of that stupid filler arc with the little girl and the boy, its been interesting. Its been filler yeah, but it was good still. Plus the anime is about to get into another soul society arc where its gonna be non-stop @ss kicking and fights for like 20+ episodes back to back. Naruto won't get interesting again until Orochimaru fights Naruto... and that could possibly be 26 episodes away.

I honestly think that the japanese view anime differently. If the show is good, its good. Only in the us is non-manga equal to a show being bad, without accounting for the actual quality of the show/episode.
Also, Melancholy had two episodes that weren't based off of the books. If you can't tell what episodes they were (cuz the quality was consistent) then maybe its a show that should have more filler rather than sit out for a year.

i didn't bother to read the whole thread. so here's my theory. bleach is kicking shipuuden but coz shipuuden got less story line than bleach. come on, on the part where naruto and kakashi chase after deidara, the chase went through for 3-4 eps and still chasing. but bleach on the other hand, got more story line. even filler is funny.
Let's get Kickin' ...whatever that means

Well to be honest the latest fight in Naruto (the anime) is better that any fight in Bleach. Both shows are too fillerish and slow and sucky so it doesn't matter. 😎 😀
