That's not culture.... it's more to do with materialism and keeping up appearances. I think the word is "Kiasu".

I learned classical guitar, and was so lucky that my teacher also had great interest in jazz so I learned quite a bit from him.

I also play piano, keyboard and most types of guitars. I played in few bands when I was younger and have a small studio at home.

I use to play the trumpet and baratone but I have asthma now so not much of that.

I have attempted learning several instruments, but I am always really bad so move on and try something new. I tried viola for 3 years, french horn for 1 year, and now I am trying piano. I think i will just stick to singing...

It's mostly piano, violin and singing because I have those as subjects at my school. Though, my real passion is composing music <3333

I picked up (rather begged my dad for it) Keyboard/synthesyzer about 4 years ago... That too out of pure Jelousy cause my elder brother had got himself a guitar. Didn't find a teacher or when I did, I didn't had time. So I learnt all the music by ear and... Internet!!!!! Now I can play a lot of songs on the Keyboard by just listening them... and I also manage to read staff notations, though I'm very very slow at it. I can also read guitar tabs 😛 and play them on Piano/Keyboard.

I also play the Computer 😛 (You know, stuff like LMMS, Milky tracker, Scream tracker, and FL Studios... I also wanna try Cakewalk...) Yes, I like making music and turning my imagination into musical notes 😃

Me too... I find it easier than learning some existing song...
