who listens to GOOD rap?!
Quote from ahoaho
Ahh...
Nomenclature issue.
Hip Hop= form of music
Rap= way of making hip hop music.Rap is a verb. It's not the form of music itself.
Yeah, whatever. Thanks for the talk though.

really 😕 ...lol...look back a couple of post with me posting a grip load of rappers ..what they make is good rap....and i cant believe that soulja boy is platinum >.<...and about the hip hop thing..i always thought hip hop meant doing your on thing (musically)....and not changing even when people are hating you or not liking your music

i think you just like pop music, nothing wrong with that. pop rap works sometimes like Ja Rule had a good run, every radio in the country was playing his tracks, and it makes for good baby making music but i find nothing catchy about snap rap. gives me a migraine, and R&B songs nowadays are starting to sound all the same.
AAAAAAAAAAAnd there it is.
What the truth is.
It's the same homogenization that lead to the rise of hip hop in the first place. Music goes in cycles.
A certain type of music breaks through and it's hot, and then it gets perfected, and then it becomes a homogenized slurry of one hit wonders.
Yep Yep.
Kanye's New Album is about to fail if all he's doing is singing like in the singles he just put out. Stick with the bars man!

i have faith in him, he's very versatile and at the same time he's milking this Vocalizer fad for all its worth. besides last thing we want is for him to not win a Grammy and refuse to release albums anymore.

It's like he's moving his finger up and down on this throat everytime he sings with that thing...
But we all know that hip-hop is on its way to the grave. If only more mainstream rappers were as lyrically gifted like Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West. Or have some of the indie and unsigned rappers that don't talk about what you hear in so many songs.
But I have to admit, I like Lil Wayne. I'm from New Orleans, and the Hot Boys were big down here, so I'm glad to see that one of them is classified as "The Best Rapper Alive". Doesn't mean I like what he says though...

Lil' Wayne classified himself as the greatest alive.
He's not even in the top ten. Probably not even the top 25.
