If any of you have seen the latest cover, you can see naruto, onepiece and toriko on the front while the other minor mangas are behind them, including bleach. Strange, huh? Even though toriko is not as popular as Bleach atm, it always does better on the rankings.

Toriko is popular, yes, but it dont have the sheer amount of readers as the big 3.
WSJ is trying to make it their poster boy.

it isn´t part of the big three. it is like Gurren Lagann - really succesfull, but not as commonly known around the world as one piece, naruto and bleach

fairy tail is more successfull than toriko. i think it´ll take bleach´s place after kubo ended the manga. but then there would a kodansha manga be in the big three....

The Big Three have nothing to do with being serialized in WSJ. It's just referring to their overall popularity. Although I think that Fairy Tail gives those guys a run for their money...

I dont think that Fairy Tail is a part of the Big three of all magazines.
For example Hajime no Ippo would better fit as a part of the big three with 94 volumes.
But in 10 Years Toriko will get one of the big 3.(I am sure)

i think hajime no ippo is to old to be part of the big 3. it would have suited better in the old big three.

In all honesty I don't want to see Fairy Tail become one of the big three, it lacks a certain... something that One Piece and Naruto have. I can't lay my finger on what that is exactly but it somehow doesn't make me crave for more. Toriko on the other hand has such potential. I want to see Toriko become like his old man, I want to see Komatsu develop his knife attacks, I want to see more of that INSANE creature from the Gourmet world and I definitely want to see the Gourmet world !
Fairy Tail doesn't have that and so for me, even if it one day becomes one of the big three, it will never be as good as Toriko.
(I also think Natsu sucks as a protagonist. But in all honesty I didn't like RAVE master at all so maybe it's just me.)

For Toriko to become one of the big three it has to surpass HxH and Reborn. I don't think HxH is going to be too big of an obstacle because of it's inconsistent release dates, and I can't say anything for Reborn because I don't read it. The first 2 chapters were super boring, so I stopped reading it. . . Actually, I have no idea why that's popular in the first place. Anyone care to explain? (serious question, someone please answer)

Well with Bleach as of late id think Toriko has a good chance to snap the 3rd spot once and for all maybe even 2nd (My order of the big 3 is OP, naruto and bleach) seeing as naruto looks to be ending in 50-100 chapters though something new might happen, just a number out of my ass and is just a speculation dont rage o_O the big 3 will always be the 3 most popular ongoing manga for me. And yea i gotta agree with the fairy tail comments above i read it but it doesnt really make me want to read it so bad i cant wait or speculate whats going to happen, every arc in fairy tail has been pretty much the same, protect/help comrade, beat a baddie on with the next. Going to take many years before someone dethrones the monster called One Piece though, its sales are just amazing and its story doesnt go up and down, its just like World of Warcraft, cant be killed.
