Impact of Hair/Makeup
Okay, after seeing this pic, this thread came to mind. : x
So, should it? @ poll question. And how is it for you? Does makeup make you look more different? Would your bf (or gf) shock themselves when they see your morning face? D: Guys can answer too, and tell their opinion, or experiences about girls they know in real life~
Hmm, hope this thread is good. o.o

From experience during the prom, girls look less attractive with make up on.
And yes, A change in hair really gives a shock. So does taking off glasses.

Some people think its better some don't. Personally judging by that picture I'm probably indifferent to both, just that in the second picture (with make-up) her boobs are kind of showing. But then again I'm very against the idea of heavy dress up and make-up since it looks overbearing most of the time. I always thought that make-up gives people a different impression, but its not always the impression you want.

I kind of agree, we had this vote about who changed the most during the prom night (as in looks better than normal). The person who won it actually looks better with the make-up but I just thought she was trying a bit too hard. Generally girls who did try, shocked me in a way that I almost started laughing, I got slapped twice because I burst out laughing as soon as I saw this one girl with a golden fake eyelash. (once by her and once by the girl I was dancing with lol)
Girls who alternate between contacts and glasses also shock me, I have this person in my home tutor during high-school who wore contacts every now and then, and it always made me look twice and notice her more.
Do not feed the trolls

Depends on the person, really.
I've never really shocked anyone without makeup, though there are times where people will point out that I look a bit paler than usual (I'm very fair-skinned.). My sister works as an esthetician and make-up artist, and I was taught that make-up is supposed to enhance our features, not make us look wholly different human beings.

I think subtle makeup is much better (and more eye-catching usually) than over-doing it, which most young girls do. These days, I wear eyeliner, and that's usually it. If I'm going out somewhere really nice, I'll add a subtle lipstick and MAYBE faint blush. That's all.
Hair really can make a striking difference (good, and bad).
I absolutely can't stand things like 'Glamour Shots', because that's not how one normally looks, and it's usually WAY overdone.
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

I don't wear make-up every day because frankly I can't be bothered getting out of bed earlier to slap it on. Same with the hair, it's naturally straight so I don't style it in the mornings and I spend most days in the lab anyway so usually it ends up in a ponytail. I do have it feathered and layered and when I can afford to I get highlights but I don't bother with a daily regime. Also there' s something exciting about getting all dolled up for a night out so I think it would detract from that if I made myself up every day.
As for my boyfriend's opinion, any boy worth my time shouldn't care. I'm not saying beauty isn't important and I do look after my skin but I don't think wearing make-up every day is neccessary. My biggest change is whether I wear my glasses or not. I can't deal with contacvts but only need my glasses for lectures and driving so in and between lectures I'll wear them but in the lab or just in general I don't bother which I guess changes my look a lot.

well for everyday make-up, i do think that just a little bit of eye-liner is enough. makes your eyes more lovely and it doesn't take much time or it doesn't look like you are going to a party instead of classes.
but seriously, even applying only an eyeliner makes a biiig difference: for instance, without eye liner my face just looks umm emotionless. and my red cheeks overshadows my eyes. but with eyeliner my eyes get all the attention. not the other parts of my face.
and as for hair, i turned my black hair into red. and then gave my red hair all kinds of different shapes. and with each one of them i looked like a totally different person.
and no i don't think someone would be surprised to see my morning face. i don't do that much make-up to make me look totally different. i only use heavy make-up such as powder, foundation for going out at night. and then, my make-up totally aims for a flawless skin since because of winter i have all different tones of red and pink on my face.
well my current love interest doesn't care actually. but likes it when i wear red lipstick, which is quite rare anymore since it just doesn't fit me anymore like it used to fit. maybe because i changed the tone of my hair color?

You should know what a transformation makeup has on me Doc 🤣
I don't wear makeup everyday. In fact, the only time I wear makeup is when there's a special occasion.
This is why when people see me with makeup, there's a massive impact because nobody sees me with it on everyday, and thus I look totally different. That's what I believe makeup is all about. That special occasion to make you look totally different.
I mean, sure, you can wear makeup everyday, but when it comes to that special occasion, you just look the same as always, or you add more...which can make you look worse in some cases...
As for hair, well I used to have mine tied up all the time, so when I let it loose on random occasions, people were like 😲
Now I mix it up a bit, but because my hair has a lot of volume, and it's seriously curly, when I get my hair done at the hairdressers, people can tell because it's all straight and thinner than before. My hair still makes an impact 🤣

hmm, I only use makeup for my eyes.
But I don't think I look THAT bad without. except when you see me when I woke up five minutes before and i barely had sleep.then I look like a zombie.
but it can really make someone look different.I've seen many girls who looked like they had a makeover when they put on make up.
as for the hair, yeah, it really does matter, depending on the haircut, one's face can look totally different.

Make up can make a girl look really bad. Most girls look alot better without makeup, or with just a little lip gloss. Actually, lip gloss almost always looks good, but that's about it.
Hair makes a huge difference on anyone. It can completely change the look of someone.

It'd be great if I could actually look my age with make-up and a new haircut. Instead, I look fifteen.

I think having a good haircut is important. It isn't that hard to have pleasant looking hair.
I don't mind crazy make-up, but it shouldn't be something to hide behind, or be used to totally change your face every day.
People look so much cuter naturally 😃

This, well, most of it. Anyways.
I don't mind hair conditioners, but it's hair spray that bothers the crap out of me (My mom and my sister know that I loathe the darn thing, so to agitate me, they spray hairspray at me when I'm passing by,...it really sucks when it gets in my mouth :/).
Personally, I consider make-up to be a bunch of junk and just a mask to escape reality (well, sort of), pretty much (Mainly because when I'm forced to wear it glares at my mother and after I try and wash my face off, it's still there, I have to scrub my face for like, almost ten minutes just get the damn stuff off XD.)
I don't really do anything with my hair, either (I usually put it in a pony tail) curling my hair doesn't work well...it's too thick and in the end,...it looks all weird and I hate it XD. Ironically, considering it's naturally wavy (When it's dry it's straight, and gets very curly [sometimes] when wet).
Some make-up looks good on people, some,...it's like..."What was just seen, cannot be unseen." type of thing.
