Well I don't hate it, but I don't read too much of it. Even so there are a couple of shoujo series I wouldn't mind reading.

I hate some shoujo cliches, but I love shoujo as a whole.
Same thing with shounen - it's the most persistent cliches I hate, not the demographic. 😀

I don't think it's quite rational to hate the shoujo demographic as a whole. Even though the general interpretation is that shoujo manga are aimed towards teenage girls, there are some that have a much more mature (I am NOT referring to smut, I'm talking about deep psychological stuff) outlook towards life. 😃
I despise cliched, sappy romances (actually, there are only 3 manga I read that even include the 'romance' genre) and I don't like shounen-ai very much either; so in general, shoujo isn't for me. I prefer seinen, josei and certain shounen titles for the most part. However, I would never filter the shoujo genre from my searches, and I wouldn't give up on reading a manga that looks/sounds interesting just because it's shoujo.

I'd say its up to the reader, i personally like it even as many said before me its "aimed" at girls, but that doesn't mean boys don't read it.

Yes, the typical shoujo definitely is the worst kind of manga out there, however, there are some wonderful exceptions, such as Tokyo Crazy Paradise, Skip Beat!, Cat Street etc. But the typical shoujo (shy, sweet, ordinary main girl and a masochistic, super, cool rich, popular, handsome, smart, athletic main guy) I detest 🤢

I agree, back then i don't really into manga, but my sis always buy shoujo manga
one day i tried to read it and from that point i've become hooked by manga, i was succed in drawing exam by drawing my own original girl character wearing a dress...
(yes i can draw a manga girl, but i can't draw a manga boy... i've realize that my drawing is more a shoujo type though 😳 )

I don't hate them nor love them, I'm in my mid 20's that why I'm more in to Seinen and Josei. but in the shoujo genres I avoid by all cost smut, cheesy badly written chlidish one and high-school romance, I can't tolerate these type of shoujo, other than that there are a lots of very good shoujos.

No, I don't 😐 How could I, anyway, when there are authors like Yuki Kaori and Midorikawa Yuki...
I dont hate it, but I keep my distance. Usually Shoujo its too much "unreal" to enjoy it: better shounen, cause at least it doesnt pretend to be realistic.
