It all is kinda the same, but so are action movies, sci-fi etc. You either like that "same" or don't. I'm not the biggest fan, but I check them out every now and then.

For manga, my favorite one is Ichigo 100%. Its cliche at times, but there is enough about it that's different or kinda goes the opposite of almost everything else.

Ichigo 100% is shounen. 🙄 Of course it kinda goes the opposite of almost everything else (if you mean other shoujo manga).

I don't hate shoujo. It's just that most bore me, esp. the romance ones so I just avoid them. I don't have a problem with weak heroine, etc. If the story is interesting to me, I will read it. But I do have a problem with reverse harem, love triangle, school life, smut, bad art, the jerk and bully being male lead, simple archetypes and no character develeopment, annoying cutesiness, etc in shoujo.

I just dislike fluff and am generally not a romance fan. So even if a fluffy shoujo romance title is raved by everyone else, it's still not likely to interest me - usually nothing to do with whether the manga is actually good, but with my taste.

Nowadays, if it's romance shoujo, I won't read (esp. school life romance). If it's not romance, I will give it a try if the art looks acceptable. Most bad art is in the romance department.

I don't hate it. >.>
I might say the opposite sometimes though. <.<
But that's just because of the many similar cliches. I still find myself bouncing back to shoujo when I'm bored, like now. ._.

Never really posted in this section, till today. XD

Nope. 🤣 I love shoujo. I've probably read more good shoujos than good joseis, just because of the sheer number and variety of shoujo mangas out there. In fact, my favorite demographics are: (1) shoujo, (2) seinen, (3) josei, (4) shounen. 😐

I do not hate them. My reading to this point was mostly shounen and seinin, so shoujo is a nice change of pace for me (although, I prefer fantasy, since I read manga as a form of escapism).

The only problem that I have with shoujo is the art. It seems like every single one that I have read has the same art. That "is that a guy or a girl" art that is more unrealistic than most shounen styles.

As a guy I've been steering clear of shoujo for the most part - but I recently gave 'Ghost Hunt' a chance and I'm thankful I did.

So now I don't hate all shoujo, just most 😀

No... and Yes? You can't really like everything in the genre.. We can grow out of it, in a way. I like it, but sometimes I want change , so I read other things. Some being Josei and Seinen ( my firsts mangas were shounen, shoujo, then seinen, and finally josei) . I mainly read shoujo, so I can't say I dislike it totally. Sometimes the stories seem to repeat, but if the plot's good or/and the art, I can read~

I used to think the same way... I first read a shounen romance and tried a shoujo and decided that it was meant for girls and I'll leave it at that. I never thought that my reading/complete list would have a lot of shoujo on it, like it does now..

I've had so many change of opinions concerning manga now I believe almost ANY type of manga can be good, it all depends on the mangaka 🙂

Nope, I like shoujo. But I have to mix it with other genres or it'll get on my nerves after a while. =)

BTW: 1000th post. =)

Not at all. I mostly read shoujo manga, although I'm trying other genres now. I just hate the fact that there are too many shoujo around, cause I think that is the reason why it becomes rather difficult for the good authors to come up with something creative 100%.

i don't hate shoujo, there're good ones, i just don't like these that are "chichê", google says that it's the same word in english =P, you know like, a girl in love with sensei, man there're so many of them XDD, or like ugly girl, well not exactly ugly, but commom, with hot guys...
Now, i reading The Wallflower, The One, and Ouran, i think i like more comedy histories, these're really funny. 🤣

I dont hate shoujo at all... as a matter of fact i enjoy them; BUT theres some stuff i cant like about some shoujos out there.

  1. the fact that most heroines are whores that fall in love with every guy that pass near them 😛 .

  2. when they arent whores then... the drama drags forever they are happy then sad then happy then sad O_o its like a never ending circle.

  3. Well most end up with the guy you dont want lol.
