Recent Releases
I recently got DragonForce's new album, Ultra Beatdown, as well as Metallica's new album, Death Magnetic. I didn't have enough to get Slipknot's new one, All Hope Is Gone, though. A friend of mine got it, so I can borrow it from him to check it out.
Oh, and it is late, but I also recently got Coheed and Cambria's new album, Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World For Tomorrow. It came out last year, but I could never find the Special Edition version until a few months back.
So, I pose this question to you all.
Any recent releases you guys have bought?
Or, any new ones you guys are looking forward to?

How's Death Magnetic?
I'm not a big Metallica fan so I'm debating whether or not to get it.
But as far as my recent purchase of new material (not reissues):
The Roots- Rising Down
The Black Keys- Attack and Release
Ry Cooder- I, Flathead

I just got the new Okkervil River album, The Stand-Ins, last tuesday and was quite satisfied with it. About a mont ago I purchased Connor Oberst's solo album and a month before that Stay Positive by the Hold Steady.
As for what I'm looking forward to now, I'm not so sure. Doesn't look like much for me for the rest of the year (though something may pop up that grabs my interests).
Tree + Taco = Tree taco.

How's Death Magnetic?
Well, after I first listened to the entire album, all in one go, I tried not to crap myself.
Its easily Metallica's best album in years. I love every song, and I find myself not skipping any just to get to one I like, because I enjoy them all.
I think it will go down as one of their best albums, easily.

Really? As good as, say Ride the Lightning and Kill 'em All?

I find that hard to believe.... 😐
The last cd I bought was Prolonging The Magic - Cake, that was about the same time I got Airplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel.

Haven't bought anything newly released. I'm looking to Vienna Teng's fourth album. The last time I looked forward to a new release, I was very disappointed. My friend actually bought it, and we listened to it together. So for the record, Basshunter's first album is soooo much better than his second, which has absolutely no character to it. While the first album sounded very unique and original, with musical melodies and his own singing (in Swedish too!) woven nicely into techno, the second album was just trite.

Both of you can form your own opinions after listening to it. Here's the first single off of the album called "The Day That Never Comes" on Youtube.
This isn't even my favorite song off the album, either. 😀

Hmmm... the most recent release I remember buying is N.E.R.D.'s newest. Catchy album.
Metallica played here a few hours ago, I think a friend of mine went.
My pre-order of the new TSOAF album recently arrived (though I've had it for quite a while ;P). I adore some of the songs but there are a few I have on skip. If they did a final live show I'd travel anywhere in the world to be there, but it wont happen. ;<
I also bought When I Am God by Oh, Sleeper. Lyrically the best music I have ever heard, a title that I'd previously given to Tool. They were fantastic when I saw them live, so I'm pretty much in love at the moment, unfortunately I've noticed that not many people on this forum share my music taste. ;3
Have a link anyway ;]

Tool is actually likable in some aspects, though sometimes a bit prog for my tastes.
What is TSOAF?

Not a bad song, I think you might have just hooked me into a new band. Kinda reminds me a bit of All That Remains.
I agree, Tool is pretty good. In terms of written lyrics, I think Coheed and Cambria, Metallica, and Linkin Park all write some pretty good songs. But, there's tons of good music out there, with tons of good lyrics.
