How's Death Magnetic?

Well, after I first listened to the entire album, all in one go, I tried not to crap myself.

Its easily Metallica's best album in years. I love every song, and I find myself not skipping any just to get to one I like, because I enjoy them all.

I think it will go down as one of their best albums, easily.

Really? As good as, say Ride the Lightning and Kill 'em All?

I find that hard to believe.... 😐
Both of you can form your own opinions after listening to it. Here's the first single off of the album called "The Day That Never Comes" on Youtube.

This isn't even my favorite song off the album, either. 😀
The Judas Kiss, All Nightmare Long, Unforgiven III, or Suicide and Redemption. All great.

@thezombieking- The ell is wrong with you? Slipknots new album is awesome.

Because i grew to love their older stuff, Iowa, the Self titled CD, and the Demo are their best works.

Tho there was a diff singer for a bit of the Demo CD

idk, the best song on All Hope is Gone is Dead Memories.

Metallica played here a few hours ago, I think a friend of mine went.

My pre-order of the new TSOAF album recently arrived (though I've had it for quite a while ;P). I adore some of the songs but there are a few I have on skip. If they did a final live show I'd travel anywhere in the world to be there, but it wont happen. ;<

I also bought When I Am God by Oh, Sleeper. Lyrically the best music I have ever heard, a title that I'd previously given to Tool. They were fantastic when I saw them live, so I'm pretty much in love at the moment, unfortunately I've noticed that not many people on this forum share my music taste. ;3

Have a link anyway ;]

Tool is actually likable in some aspects, though sometimes a bit prog for my tastes.

What is TSOAF?

The Sound of Animals Fighting.

I've only heard psychosocial from the new slipknot album, it feels a bit slow, not a bad song by all means but I agree that it doesn't compare to the earlier stuff. I hear they're really good live, but I guess they wouldn't play much of their older stuff anymore.

The Sound of Animals Fighting

They're a side project with members of Circa Survive (Anthony Green yay!), Chiodos, RX Bandits, Days Away, The Autumns, Finch and a few others if I remember. They're heavily experimental but it works, though their 3 albums are all very different.

Sadly the album they just finished is their last, the first (my favourite) was quite heavy and the second was too 'experimental' for my tastes but had a few great songs. One of the new songs if anyone's interested:

Terrible sound quality but I can't find a good version ^^

Bought a lot of CD's last week....

Some of the highlights are:

Soil & Pimp Sessions - Planet Pimp (Jazz)
Another outstanding album from the masters of death-jazz.... these buggers never fail to impress.... constantly dynamic, yet never runs away with itself.... disarmingly satisfying and always exciting.... typical S&P.

Esbjörn Svensson Trio - Leucocyte (Jazz)
Pianist Esbjörn Svensson was tragically killed in a diving accident earlier this year, and this feels very much like an unfinished album....unsure in parts, and occasionally too willfully rough, but that's what makes it so heartbreakingly beautiful.

Fabric 35 - Ewan Pearson (Minimal/Electronica)
Not exactly a new release, but I've had difficulty finding this one since Fabric releases are all "limited editions".... wonderful Minimal Tech-House mix... adulterous, gritty, abstract, moving and always fluid.... very deep stuff, and not for the glow-stick brats.

DJ Okawari - Diorama (Hip-Hop/Jazz/Electronica)
Jazzy, soulful and smooth Hip-Hop.... great selection of tracks, each one given just the right amount of attention.... took a few listens to really grow on me.... similar to Nujabes, Shingo Suzuki or Kero One.

I think the last "new release" I got was Tiger Army's latest CD. Other than that, all my favorite bands have in the last few years disbanded.

I'm still crossing my fingers for Brody Dalle to stop releasing songs and boot out that album already. I'll buy that in a minute.

I'm looking forward to ONE OK ROCK's third album "Kanjou Effect". 😃 Though it doesn't release until 12th November. I haven't bought CDs in years. (shame on me)

But I hope to buy some albums soon. And that will be: "Park Hyo Shin - The Breeze of Sea" and "DBSK - Mirotic". Kanjou Effect too, of course.
