Father is an atheist an mother is a Christian. I was raised a Christian but rebelled against it when I was 11 and became a Jedi for 3 years then I dunno I just found my faith and converted back to Church of England Christianity and got confirmed. I'm more flexible than the bible allows though. I believe any person who sincerely repents of their sins will be forgiven regradless of religion or denomination. I think all religions that believe in a higher being are worshipping the same being but by different names and in different ways. I don't preach either, I think faith needs to be found and to be found someone needs to be looking for it. My best friend is an atheist and no amount of preaching will ever convert her if she doesn't want to be converted so I see no point in trying to force my beliefs on others.

A dedicated Christian, but I accept any religion except Satanism (O.o)

People ask me how I can be a yaoi-fangirl and be Christian. The answer is simple, yaoi isn't like actual gays.

Hmm...Greek Orthodox. 🙂

Same here
Had to admit, didn't expect to find one here (in the forums I mean, not in the site in general)
don't know why... Maybe false beliefs/stereotypes...

Oh wow, 2 people who are greek orthodox. Make it 3. I'm one as well 🤣

I agree though, I didn't expect to find any in the forums either.

Deist. I can't just look at the world and say no one created it.

The whole science can't prove god exists therefore can't be real always seemed so silly to me. If something created everything in existence, even science, then how could you possibly use it to prove the existence of it?

There is a good reason why you are unimpressed by my regular comments, and that is because I don't think when I do them, I just let my fingers write some jerky/half arsed comments and enjoy the reaction.

I can't take the internet seriously unless I am talking about important political issues or when I am talking about religion >_>

Even thought I want to know why you think that one was any different? That was still a half arsed speed typing response O.O

well even if it comes from being half arsed, it can sometimes come out well thought out. i guess you could call it a pleasant surprise that came from half of something. 🤣 but ultimately i thought it made complete sense though. when it comes to faith it's really how you mold it IMO, there are so many religions that have a similar theme and origin, focusing on similar interests of quelling complete chaos, while holding onto freedom. it just seemed to fit to me that a person should be able to allow those beliefs to shape their view possibly for the better.

i've always had that type of thought in my mind too. cause honestly what exactly could be possibly looking for in order to prove the existence of a higher power. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step..." but in this case where is that first step going to be taken? don't get me wrong i have nothing wrong with people who don't believe in a higher being or their philosophy, since i think Atheists do have a better usage of logic than most religions out there. but i think that the proof mantra doesn't hold that much weight as the claims of blind faith.

Just a brief note:

The argument is not "Science can't prove God, therefore he does not exist"

Rather, it's "Science can find no evidence of God, thus there's currently nothing to support the theory of his existence".

Basically, we can't prove God doesn't exist, but see no evidence that he does. Until some concrete evidence is found, Atheist see no reason to justify the belief in God.

Though of course, like all good science-minded folk, we more than prepared to adapt our theories should new evidence arise. We just kinda, doubt that it will, in this case.

Sorry to go on about that crap, just felt like correcting what I felt was a minor misconception.

oh god...This thread is becoming more like a religious debate than a simple thread asking bout "oh hey! what's your religion". 😐

Anyhu, I'm a muslim and I do pray five times a day. Although at times, I overslept and missed my morning prayers 🤢

Some satanist (ish) friends once explained what satanism was all about. And well, it wasn't at all like what most people say it's about. They don't just go around and sacrifice people etc, that's devil worshiping or something.. They're kinda nice and sensible actually, in a way. At least compared to alot of so called nice Christians.. 😐

Media has kinda merged them together into something crasy.. There are really many kinds of satanism around.. Not really clear on the differences, but not all of them are bad

Anyway.. I don't really believe in religion, but it would be nice if there's something after death, can't get any worse 😛

Atheism is not a religion, its simply the belief that god dosn't exist.

*A religion is an organized approach to human spirituality which usually encompasses a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices, often with a supernatural or transcendent quality, that give meaning to the practitioner's experiences of life through reference to a higher power or truth.[1] It may be expressed through prayer, ritual, meditation, music and art, among other things. It may focus on specific supernatural, metaphysical, and moral claims about reality (the cosmos and human nature) which may yield a set of religious laws, ethics, and a particular lifestyle. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and religious experience.

The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction. "Religion" is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system,"[2] but it is more socially defined than personal convictions, and it entails specific behaviors, respectively.* Quoted from wikipedia-

Religion belongs to the subcategories of theism, atheism is the exact opposite of that.

A simple disbelief in something dosnt classify as a religion.
