Noragami Gets Anime
The wraparound jacket band on the seventh volume of Adachitoka's Noragami manga is announcing on Monday that a television anime adaptation has been green-lit.
At the boundary between this realm and another, there live eight million gods, dead spirits who serve the gods, and other assorted spirits who help and meddle in the affairs of humans. A sweet middle school girl named Hiyori Iki has been enduring bullying from her classmates, and she goes to the restroom by herself to cry. Scrawled on the bathroom wall is a phone number and the message, "I solve your troubles."
After Hiyori calls the number, she encounters a homeless, unemployed figure who proclaims himself a "god." Crude, unpredictable, and worthless, he does not answer people's prayers and no one acknowledges him. However, he has one sole power, the ability to cut all who pass between this world and the next.
Adachi launched the manga in the Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2011, and one-shot manga stories have also run in the spinoff publication Monthly Shōnen Magazine + since that same year.
Adachi's first manga project was the art in the Alive - Saishū Shinka teki Shōnen (Alive - The Final Evolution) manga, which Del Rey published in North America. Alive was also slated for a television anime, but the project was suspended and eventually cancelled in 2009 due to the delisting of the Gonzo anime studio from the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The anime appears to follow the manga until volume 4 / episode 10. Then the two stories start to diverge.

This anime was perfect for me. Loved every bit. Now I just can't wait to dig in the manga. 😀
Noragami's 2nd Season Title, Fall Premiere, New Visual Unveiled
The July issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine is unveiling the title, premiere timeframe, and a new teaser visual of the second Noragami television anime season on June 6. Noragami Aragato will premiere this fall. The cast will appear at a Noragami Aragato event in Tokyo on August 8.
The new season will adapt the manga's popular Bishamon arc and will reunite the staff and cast from the first season based on Adachitoka's manga.
I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.
