I actually really like this thread. It goes to show how small the world really is when everyone is one big mutt. I hope that someday we'll all just reply - "human". Or Klingon, Bjoran, Vulcan.... ^_^

So yeah - I live in the "mixing pot" of the world - NY! So, accordingly, I'm Irish, English, French, with a little bit of American Indian and Jewish mixed in, who lives in a Polish speaking household, and my daughter is also Scotts, German, and who knows what else. Basically - American Mutt!

w00t! i'm apparently the 4th to vote Middle Eastern. i'm surprised, thought i'd be a lonie but i guess not since there were 3 others who voted before me.

as for me i'm from Egypt, not to be confused with other areas in the middle east, seeing as a lot of people assume i'm from else where as soon as they hear the word "egyptian" even though i would think "egyptian" actually meant Egypt. sorry i'm rambling, guess i'm getting tired.

what i did notice was that people tend to place the person who said they were from into a category as soon as they hear it. it's like they jump to conclusion, and even after finding out it's not true they stick with their first impression. however that doesn't seem right.

Don't look too disappointed. 🤣

I'm of African decent, but not full. At least one of my great grandparents was Irish, and another was Native American (Creek I believe). I'm sure I've got some other Caucasian nationality but I don't feel much like dragging out my family records at the moment. Some people in my family look more like they are of African decent than others.

So yea, I tend to answer "Other" to these kinds of questions unless I'm forced to pick otherwise.

I very much agree with you on that one. I would so love to see nothing more than a "human" option because, quite frankly, I don't really care what nationality anyone is. Sadly, it's still human nature to group people.
