Hoho, Probably because China had a huge influence on surrounding countries with their economical, social, and military power.
I saw the movie platoon, it was very very scary and shocking. Some of the kids in my class were actually laughing when the American soldiers were shooting at the mentally retarded guy for fun......the movie made me feel sad, but the fact that people laugh about other people's misfortune also made me sad. This is the inside of every human, a savage cannibal.
In case you don't know, Platoon is one of the most accurately made movie about the Vietnam war. It showed us the ugly side of humanity at its worse. Believe me, things that happened in the movie are just absolutely shocking.

😕 Where does Chinese punishment come from? The Vietnam war was a civil war. America and South Vietnam VS. China and North Vietnam. Russia probably also got involved. America, in some people's point of view, lost because Vietnam became a Communist state. It still is.

if you are referring to the treatment of POW(Prisoner of War), the North Vietnamese hated the American soldiers to the guts. In an article, it is said that they would execute POWs with dull butcher knife so they could hack them a second or third time.
If you ever watched or read any documents on Vietnam War, you would be horrified. Agent Orange, Napalm, and a lot of other chemicals used.
Napalm will burn your skin right off.

Countries involved are:
U.S.A.
Soviet Union
People's Republic of China
Republic of Korea
Democratic People's Republic of Korea
Australia and New Zealand
Thailand
Canada

Hi everyone... This is actualy my firsts time posting in a forum whatsoever...
Be nice, ok? XD
I´ve been reading it and realized some guys don´t know Japan´s history very well...
Can´t blame then, though, cause IT´S a friggin´ mess...
First, not all japanese are descendent of chinese, even tough almost all "natural" japanese, speacily from the the main islands (excluding Hokkaido, home of the true japanese, the yanu), descend directly from chinese and korean who migrated there around 2 b.c., running from the war in the continent (and from the "crazy" Qin Shi Huangdi...)
Secondly, the "kanji", or "chinese ideograms" are, really, a kind of simplified chinese, but not a copy. The main difference is the two forms of reading, the "on´yomi" (sound reading) and the "kun´yomi" (meaning reading).
For exemple, when you write "byakugan" (naruto XD), you are meaning "white eyes". If read isolatelly, each are read "shiro" (white) and "me" (eye), but "shirome" would sound real lame... Right? That´s why you can kinda "choose" when to use one kind of reading or the other
Finally, the main diference between japanese and chinese is that japanese have three alfabets, one is the "kanji", the other two are the "hiragana" and the "katakana", who are pretty similar to our alphabet
Japanese should be easier to learn than chinese, once you can start with the "easy" hiragana and katakana to write most things you need, but I never studied chinese, so I can´t say for sure... Maybe blakraven66 can tell me? XD

AHHA! I was right, Japanese is a different culture. Although you can't deny the fact that Japanese's similarities in appearance and culture to Chinese.

Sure, because China was so powerful comparring to it´s neighbors, it basically defined all cultures of the eastern asia. You can see examples in japanese language, filosofy, architeture, agriculture and in endless other things, including art (not today´s situation, as China´s culture was blasted by the cultural revolution while Japan could develop our beloved anime and manga)
But Japan´s case was a little diferent: It remained free from invasions (that obviosly cause changes in culture, as we can see in Japan´s "californication") until WW2. And during the tokugawa era, that stated after the end of the sengoku (warring states) and lasted until the stat of the meiji era (as seen in "rurouni kenshin"), it was completely closed to the world. In this period, Japan colud develop it´s own kind of culture. It was in this time, for example, that apearred the tea´s cerimony
Anyway, Japan´s culture DOES resemble China´s, but has it´s own spirit

hmm...well I've only studied a little so I don't know much since I only use one type of Chinese alphabet(don't know if there are any other...), but there are three different Chinese languages: "fukien"(Taiwanese I think...this is what I mainly use with my family), "Cantonese"(As far as I know only Hong Kong uses this), and Mandarin (the traditional and mostly used in the mainland). As a side note the alphabet I know is for the Mandarin language. As for which is easier...when listening and speaking I think Japanese would be easier since its easy to mispronounce something in Chinese since just one word can be pronounced four different ways and each one having their own meaning so it can get confusing...As for writing I never really studied Japanese writing but they seem more simplified, but Chinese words are mostly written to look like what they mean...
well to me Japanese is easier verbally but Chinese is easier when written...but thats just my opinion...to each his own... 😀

Actually, parts of your knowledge of Chinese are wrong. There are two systems of character writing, traditional and simplified. Mainland China uses mainly simplified while Hong Kong and Taiwan use mainly traditional. There is also zhuyin, the phonetic alphabet (Mandarin), and pinyin, the romanization of Mandarin. The last two are not really considered part of the Chinese writing system, but it doesn't hurt to know them since it can make learning characters much easier.
For spoken Chinese, it is different. There are MANY dialects of Chinese, not just one or two. The three MAIN dialects would be Mandarin, Cantonese, and Taiwanese.

Half Chinese and Half Vietnamese.
Though all races do like anime, just not all races are as exposed to it as others are.

well like I said I don't much...they just teach us the words, how to say them, how to write them and what they mean...we don't get the in-depth lesson on what kind of alphabet, language, etc.. at all...

Actually, you said "languages" which would technically not be the correct term.
