Quote from Chaoswind

-_-

just use the unfinished list for the things you consider crap and tada is done...

you would need to ignore any releases with a blue dot, and thats it

Yeah, but unfortunately the 'blue dot' don't even appear on the Release page... so no help there.
Also, I think it'd be troublesome for the people who like to keep things organized particularly when it comes to series they have actually read a la Unfinished and the stuff they are positive would never read Blacklisted. Plus, since there's currently no NEW differentiating symbol available for customized lists (HINTHINT), I think things tend to become rather confusing.

I agree with this idea also, sometimes you see the same releases for certain things that don't get filtered, and you may just want it removed so finding things you may like is a bit easier.

Putting it into a list is troublesome, because it doesn't remove the manga from your releases log, it just marks it with the same mark that you (and myself) use for "currently reading".

I'd have to agree it would be useful for me--especially if we could choose not to show any series that are on the blacklist when we're looking at the series info list or the releases list. At first I was doubtful, but after thinking it over, I recognized that there are several prominent benefits, and I ended up making a "never going to read" custom list for myself. It's coming along nicely and has been quite enjoyable to make. Thing is, I can't make it public, otherwise the genres in it will count towards the genres I like in my profile, and it'll say I like yaoi and hentai the most (I can't stand the stuff, by the way)... but I digress.
So anyway, some benefits are the following:

  • There are a lot (and I mean over eleven thousand... yes, I am counting) of series that I will never ever read. How could I possibly remember them all without a list? And having the icons next to the name (the blue circle would do fine) would save me the trouble of having to look up each series on my list, or having to click on it to check. Better yet would be to be able to disclude them altogether--simply "scrolling past" is quite a chore and wastes time when there are so many that I want to avoid.
  • There are genres that I mostly dislike, but that occasionally have some good stuff, so I don't want to block the whole genre. Being able to mark all the crappy stuff and disclude it saves a lot of searching time and space, while still allowing the rest of a genre to be listed.
  • I know that some people look at others' lists to look for series to read, so in this case people could look at other members' blacklists to see what not to read.

This would be very useful since I'd love to blacklist a few mangakas out there. I know that the filtering option is very helpful when it comes to distinguishing certain genres, but I enjoy certain certain genres and dislike some mangakas that specifically work on that genre. I don't care so much about sharing that list though, I just don't want them appearing in my new release page.

It would be very much appreciated if there were a blacklist option for certain mangas. I use "Releases" section a lot and every damn time, i see sth i don't wanna see. Filtering Genres certainly is helpful but sometimes there could be one or two good mangas in these filtered genres of mine so i don't wanna skip them without knowing. And i am sick of seeing some regular releases of some shitty mangas.

As for the other people who doesn't support this 'blacklist' thing, you will have nothing to lose. If u don't wanna use, just don't USE.

Besides filters for lists of series, authors and genres conditions for ignoring releases may also be useful. For example ignore shoujo releases if they don't have the author xxx or if they aren't on any of your lists.
