Have any of you internet users/chatters ever said "lol" or other internet abreviations in real life and got embarassed for it? xP I'm just wondering but it happened to me once xP. I didn't really get embarassed but it felt really awkward .__.' .

I've never done it subconsciously... maybe to annoy someone I know
I'd go.. omg/wtf/lol/stfu. I've never really been embarassed about it though.
My best friend always uses omg as a catchphrase and she says it
in a very valley girl-esque tone; it can get annoying but hey I love the girl
so I'll tolerate it. 😀

I use stfu frequently though.

Oh I have done that many times, but it has always been on purpose with "understanding" people around so there was no awkwardness involved 🙂

I remember being on TS with some dutchies playing UT99 and they used every net abbreviation spelt out or phonetically, and it was easily the gayest thing I ever heard so I make it a point never to use net abbreviation in normal conversation. 🤣

I say lol on a daily basis...

And no. I don't say it by the letters but as a word...

when i first got my email address (which was like five years ago), i didn't understand internet abbreviations, so whenever my best friend would chat with me, i'd be embarrassed that i didn't know what she was saying. i now use abbreviations whenever i'm online, but sometimes i just like spelling things out XD lol ^^

yeah, i say lol in RL alot. i have even started using abreviations in writing letters and stuff. i get abit embaressed when pepol dont kno wtf im talkin about. 😔

i've said lol. pronucing the letters in real life instead of laughing. didn't feel embarassed coz the joke wasn't real that funny so. it deserved a lol instead of rolf or what not. i've want to said WTF... But recognized where i is... but if me and my cousin want to piss of my aunty... we speak internet speak

I've made some mistake in essays and reports when I used "u" instead of "you".... and during a magazine interview I used "WTF" to save the interviewer and editor some time.
