im pretty sure utikate only gets his second sword after release. he just pulls it out of his first sword as part of the transition, its not physically inside his first sword (or beside it). it's not really a contradiction since what Hisagi pulled out doesn't technically resemble swords like Ukitake or Kyouraku. 🤣 they seem like something else if anything.

those are not Espadas but Fraccions they aren't at the same level as Espadas, some of them are like simple Arrancars. anyway the belief that the Espadas were going to be owning the Gotei 13 is sort of like a misinterpretation on our part. there's a reason why Aizen kept changing them over and over again making new ones each time.

I wasn't expecting them to be getting owned either. Ichigo vs Grimmjow, Rukia vs the two headed guy, Renji & Ishida vs Espada guy made me think that if you beat an Espada, it was going to be a knock down drag out fight where you're left half dead.

Kenpachi... once he got serious (although he still had his eye patch on) he beat his Espada in one hit.
Rukia's Brother... once he understood the Espada's ability, he beat it in one hit.
Science Guy... once he understood the Espada's ability, he beat it in one hit.
The guy who got played like a fool by Aizen... once he understood the Arrancar's ability he beat it in one hit.

Its the cycle of Espada landing some early attacks solely because they have weird abilities that nobody can predict, but then getting owned once somebody knows the ability. Thats what seems so strange.

That combined with the fact that the anime/manga show Aizen pwning Captains, stopping Bankai's with 1 finger, and doing insanely high level kido arts, without even doing incantations, while your back is turned to your opponent and you're walking away from them (in the flashback manga arc). They made him seem so bad ass, yet his crew is like a bunch of losers who get one hit ko'd.

Ichigo vs. Grimmjaw was an even match since he was about as strong as Grimmjaw at the moment. of course he's not going to get owned if they're evenly matched. just who ever wanted to win more was going to be the victor. Rukia's match up with Aaroniero, well it was sort of an understandable outcome, seeing as how he was the weakest form of Arrancar to be made. Renji and Ishida were caught in Szayrel's trap from the beginning so there was nothing that could be done about it. and just like Chad was unable to even harm Nnoitra.
the fights now are a different story, the Captains are a different league then the ones who came in. Kenpachi, he's a captain who's so powerful he doesn't even know his Zanpaktou's name. Nnoitra was tough of course, it's not like he was defeated once Kenpachi came into the scene. he was just crushed later on though from Kenpachi's sheer power though, but even that is understandable considering the Captain he was facing. Byakuya's win was sort of obvious too considering how he was made into the main person Ichigo had to fight in the S.S arc. (and a fight he barely won by a hair at that too). so when you see him fight an Espada your pretty much expecting him to beat anyone lower than Grimmjaw in the Espadas (since Ichigo's strong enough to fight #6 a.t.m). Mayuri was prepared to fight Szayel from spying on Ishida and Renji it seems, since the only thing that was going for the guy was his handicaps he made. plus his lose was his own fault as well considering he jumped into the only person around we all knew had to be the source of Mayuri's experimentation's. so him coming out of her without being poisoned was kind of non existent.
any way what i'm getting at it is the higher the number on the Espada is really the higher their level is for dealing with the Captains of the Gotei 13, they're always subject to change of course. like i said before Aizen did change them from time to time. the Espada and Aizen shouldn't be compared either, just cause he's uber powerful doesn't mean they are. Aizen, Gin, and Tousen are leading them for a reason. so it's obvious the Espada aren't all going to be specifically strong against Captains.

Hisagi's is one weapon attached by a chain, Ukitake's and Kyoraku's are two separate blades, one of them does have something connecting them, but that is just decoration as far as I can tell, where as Shuhei's is purely functional as you can see here[/color]

Someone already mentioned this, but Ukitake has only one Zanpaktou in sealed form. He gets two when he releases (goes Shikai). Also, his two swords are connected just like Hisagi's sickles.

I think the only thing that can save Yamamoto's earlier comment about Ukitake and Shunsui having the only dual sword Zanpaktou is the technicality that Hisagi technically doesn't have dual swords since they look more like sickles. When Yamamoto was explaining Ukitake and Shunsui's Zanpaktou, he said those were the only two dual "sword" Zanpaktou in SS. Like I said, Hisagi's released Zanpaktou looks more like two sickles connected by a chain. It's only a technicality, but that seems to be the only thing that would save this from looking like a complete contradiction.

Anyway, it does seem like Bleach is starting to pick up again. After what I thought was a lackluster HM arc, things started to get interesting. The Turn Back the Pendulum arc was decent (I actually loved the first few chapters), and although I wasn't a huge fan of the other fights (mostly because I felt they recycled dialog) they were still pretty interesting. If it keeps up, I think Bleach can surpass Naruto in popularity (if it hasn't already).

well its true that it looks like there are more than 2 people with twin zanpaktou but isnt this conversation a lil late if i remember correctly ikaku has 2 swords and another blade on his back on bankai and byakuya has thousands

You want to talk about unwieldy I think Ikkaku wins that one hands down that think looks down-right impossible to use.

The gist of it is that Hisagi's weapon doesn't seem to have any special ability he just holds one sickle while throwing the other. Findor seems scared and tries to escape but Hisagi throws a sickle and catches him and therefore wins. Then we see a pillar that has been destroyed and Ikkaku has collapsed.
